cobalt ss s/c upshift light?

i just got a 05 cobalt ss supercharged and i was reading thru the manual and it says it has a shift light. I can see were it is but it doesnt light up. is their a way to activate it or did i blow a fuse? am i missing something or what?

This car should still be under factory warrenty.Let them correct this problem for you.

the shift light is only supposed to come on if you hit redline or your about to hit redline.
