Unless the book is on reserve in your library (or its online system), you will probably have to spend a little extra and buy your book at the school bookstore. You can't have everything at once.

Start with the college library...check with the instructor (they may have extra copies they can put on reserve in the library)...check with other nearby college libraries and public libraries.

Ask the college librarians about other sources you can find locally or online.

Make a friend in the class and see if you can read their book or form a study group with them to get started.

Make a friend with older students who have already taken the class...especially music majors....some students hold on to their books for reference. Maybe you can borrow a copy from one of them until you can get to the point of being able to buy the books you need.

Good luck....
