That is so sad. And it's so fixable too. What a shame.

I have watched kids drop out of school for different reasons.... There are as many reasons as there are kids that drop out..... And to tell the truth is makes me angry most times..... because these kids just fall through the cracks of society...... and there is NO excuse....... If they have problems in the big public schools we need smaller schools... HELLO........ I think if the so called *powers that be* would look back a few years and really look at when we had smaller schools in this country, they would see the difference.... *sigh*....... I do not get it..... Why is American having so many problems educating our kids ?????? go in peace.... God bless

I blame the teachers. In Il we have a program called "no student left behind" what it should be is "every puplic school teacher left behind". Once they have tenure they suck because they cannot be touched. I have had kids in the public school system for over 20 years and it is the biggest joke. I can name 4 teachers that were really good in all of those years. That is sad.

Well, the way these schools are run these days, it's really no wonder. All the teacher's ever do is get the kid's from one test to another. These kid's aren't learning anything because the teacher's have no time to teach. Not only that, but these schools are nothing but social clubs, and fashion shows!!!!

its very sad beceuse if they can't cope with high school they will have a tough life. It breaks my heart that some kids don't have a support system at home or when they do but, they still can't seem to get it together. My brother dropped out because of his anger management issues. At the onset of puberty he fell apart and has yet to recover and he is 19 now.

Yeah I think it's sad too. I'm sure there are a number of reasons for dropping out "being a loser" being a small percentage of those reasons.
Some kids have tried really hard and are struggling with learning disabilities and family problems that have been unrecognized.

that was me many years ago
I did how ever get my GED and some collage. The GED thing is a joke as any one with a 6 grade education can pass that test.
back to your question I feel sick when a young person drops out of school, it is harder today than it was years ago to get a job or higher education after drooping out of high school.

that's not the reason they drop out... at least I haven't seen it that way... they always drop out because they don't try on purpose. They are perhaps just way too dumb for it. I mean seriously, it's like nothing goes on in their heads, and i've seen some people that have dropped out.
I think they're losers, when they're 16 they're usually in 11th grade... 2 more years of school left, and they threw that away to mop the floors of 7 elevens.

that makes me sad. the system can be cruel. They can always get their GED, however, or take high school classes in college. High school was a drag for me too so I can relate.

It makes me sad, because I feel they should finish their education..it's a very important thing nowadays. If you try your hardest and still don't do as well as you want to, at least you tried..but no one should just give up on something.
