Pure fiction. There are far too many actual factual records of both the living and the dead for You not to be able to research the story for Yourself. Remeber that the fact that the women in the life raft did not try to save the lives of the men in the water was covered up for many years. Those who tried to come clean were said to have been 'mentally disturbed'.

The story of Jack and Rose is just filler for the movie. Sure there was the story of how the ship went down, but they had to fill 3 hours with something, so they made up this story of Jack and Rose. However most of the other characters in that movie were real.

No.Rose and Jack were made up for the movie, found this out in looking up things on the titanic. This disappointed me a bit.as they were the beautiful part of the movie.
