Aren't Christians supposed to be honest, so why can't I be honest about the errors in the Bible without people calling me an unbeliever. Would I be a believer if I lied and claimed the Bible contains no lies or distortions, when every Christian who is honest with himself knows they exist in fairly large numbers?

I have no problem with your position. Only the Epistles are really contemporary documents in the New Testament, written at the time the events in them were occurring. The Gospels were not written until 60 years or more after the death of Christ and were not codified into the Bible until 400 years after the death of Christ.
Those who dwell on parsing and interpreting every piece of scripture miss the overall message that Christ was conveying:
"You are loved. You are forgiven. You are saved".

While I'm not saying that u are right or wrong what makes u so sure that it's wrong? Where u there? I think you are just doing this as an excuse to show your prejudice against those who believe in god. If People can worship Hollywood celebrities why can't people worship god & the bible if that's what they choose to do? Isn't this a free country? and no I'm not a christian just someone who think that double standards shouldn' t exist.

Christians are suppose to be honest, but I'm alittle confused on the distortions that you talk about in the NT. if it is a distortion then maybe were not understanding it to the fullest.

be more specific..
you going to get a truck load of opinions since its more of a personal interpretation rather a factual history book..there will always be inconsitancies in a book that has been written so long ago and been changed so many times..its such a broad topic that you could argue for years and ( which is still being done!) and still not come up with a resolution..

You fail to specify what untruths, and what tall tales...

For some people, you would be attacking their beliefs (or they perceive it that way) and many people can only deal with that in an agressive manner.

Calling you names is just a mild one.
Besides.. be glad you`re called unbeliever.
There are religions that will kill you for doubting.

Because you're barking to the wrong crowd.

These nuts haven't caught up to the fact that they live in an everchanging world and the 221st century.
