In the past 3 years (since everyone in my family/close friends range started dying), I've been to 4 out of 8.

I have been to many, many funerals in my lifetime. My husband was a pastor so I went often during those years. Now that I'm a senior citizen, I'm losing more and more friends and of course I have the young friends of my daughter being killed in accidents. It's always such a sad thing except when it's a person who's lived a good long life, knows the Lord and is ready to go. Then it is a celebration of a life well lived and a home waiting in Heaven. The first was my mother's funeral when I was fifteen months old.

I have been to 4 or 5 of them in the last 28 years. I don't do good at funerals, i usually have a breakdown and have to leave so i just don't go. I did go to my friend Tammy's when i was 14 (she got hit by a car at 14 years old), my friend Holly (died of cancer my senior year, she was 18 barely), my uncle that died when i was a teenager (went to the burial), went to the showing for my aunt who died of cancer a couple of years ago and I went to the showing for my exhusbands grandpa who passed away suddenly in 1998. I try to go to the showings but I don't even usually make it there.

none. When i was maybe...6 I saw a family friend in a casket from a picture..she was 17 years old. That image is still burnt in my mind. I'd rather remember the good times then go see them lying in a casket.

1. that was the first, and the last. i was in the viewing room where my aunt was. the door shut, and i could not get it open. talk about a panic attack. then i swear i saw her finger twitch. well, that door got opened pretty quick with me screaming and pounding on it. at the actual funeral, i would swear on a stack of bibles that i heard my aunt say my name. i took off at a dead run to the car, and refused to get out. i no longer go to funeral homes, or t ofunerals. this happened 25 years ago.

I went to my grandmothers
I went to my friends mothers
I went to my friends cousin (died when she was 17) visitation..
I went to my uncles visitation (he was probably my fav. uncle) but he was not serious like they are at a funeral, he was always having fun and being sarcastic.
I went to my other uncles visitation
I have been to a couple, and a few really bothered me. I always feel so bad for families and end up crying my eyes out for them. At my friends mothers and my friends cousins I bawled my eyes out when I saw the family. Sorry for your losses :(
