If you get a chance to see "The Fighting Sullivans" I guarantee you won't be able to hold back the tears.
A true story about five brothers that were all on the same Navy ship that was torpedoed in the Second World War. All five died. Seeing their mothers tears when told by the Department of the Navy that all five of her sons were dead is a scene that's unforgettable.
That's the reason no relatives are allowed to serve on the same ships now.

My Life (1993) with Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman is sooo sad. Not many people may remember this movie. Life is going well for Bob Jones: great job, beautiful loving wife and a baby on the way. Then he finds out that he has terminal cancer and not long to live. He sets out to videotape his life's acquired wisdom for his child, and ends up on a voyage of self-discovery and reconciliation. I can't watch that movie without crying my eyes out.

The saddest scene from a movie, in my opinion, is the scene in the movie Dancer in the Dark, when Selma (Bjork), a sweet, young immigrant who is almost completely blind due to a genetic disease, kills her friend and neighbor Bill (David Morse), when he tries to steal all of the money she's saved for her son's operation which will prevent her young son from suffering the same genetic disease.

This movie is one of the saddest and best movies of all time.
