so...im moving to poland

currently $1 = 2.75 zlotys (polish currency)

so is that a good thing or a bad thing?
im so horrible at math.
i really need to get this stuff figured out.

so, if a movie ticket in poland cost 15 zlotys, that would only be like $4.50 right?

and when i go to exchange my money....which would be better, doing it here in the US or there in poland?

Here is one web site that has information for people moving to Poland. , living costs etc. Their are probably others.

You are correct about how to convert prices.

What to do about money depends on how much you need to convert. For spending money until you get a income in Poland, using US ATM's for cash and charge cards to pay for things gives you the best exchange rates. Set up on-line banking so you can pay credit card bills, and move money between account on-line from Poland, and a have back up card in case you lose one and have to cancel. If you want to move a large about of money, talk to your bank about transferring funds to a polish bank in the city you will live in.

I think the exchange rate in Poland is the same as in the US - thanks to free markets and no capital controls.

The only issue is how you perceive the dollar/zlotys to go. I would assume the dollar will continue to fall, so I would buy zlotys as much and as soon as possible.
