A Republican conservative president sent federal troops to Little Rock to enforce intergration and federalized the Arkansas National guard in 1957 long before 1968.
A conservative Supreme court judge, Justice Earl Warren in a landmark decision (Brown vs Board of Education) came down on the side of individual rights.
It was the beginning of the civil rights movement.
When troops were sent to Oxford Mississippi by Kennedy in 1962, Robert Kennedy ordered that the 101st Airborne under the direction of 82nd Airborne division MP's be pre-segregated to remove blacks from the ranks prior to deployment. The, then all white, elite 82nd Airborne MP's threw the order in the trash. A compromise unknown to the MP's was negotiated and the 101st blacks were relegated to garbage duty.
The notion that all conservatives are against civil rights is just absurd.
If not for the definitive action of many conservatives we would be more than a decade behind in civil rights today.

Hey, bubalah... you KNOW what MY answer is gonna be, right? Or should I say, right-wing?
I was against civil rights because...um.. because...um... hhhmmmm... I didn't KNOW I was against civil rights!
Womens Rights? WOW!! I'm against Women's rights cuz I'm a WOMAN, RIGHT? See? Woman, Right... get it.. woma,.. oh nevermind.
Gay rights? WHO can be against having FUN?? When was laughing, singing, dancing, partying, whatever... against the rules (unless it becomes a public disturbance).
Native American rights? If we're born in America, aren't we then native Americans? I know here in Wyoming, if you're born in Wyoming, you're a native Wyomingite. But then, I'm an "import" to Wyoming, but I have rights here, too, don't I? GARSH!!!
Hey... I'll leave the scholarly retorts to those with the website references. I'll just sit back and sweep up the pieces.
Have a right-wing day!

I had to chime in because my fellow Conservatives forgot this one.
1968 - Richard M. Nixon Pushed through, and signed into law
Title 19.....Which opened up every sports venue for girls in high school and in turn led to all the woman's sports we have today. This also had a domino effect for the world and allowed more sports events to open up for woman to compete in the Olympics.

Its not an innocent question. It was asked to try to draw attention to your disdain for "Conservatives". You got the kind of answers the question deserved.

do conservatives know the difference between "conservative" and "liberal" vs. "Democrat" and "Republican" historically?
clearly not, according to these answers... hahaha...
by it's very definition... civil rights is a liberal idea...
remember when all the South went to the Republican party because the Democrats were too liberal for them?
I thought you guys have all those "the democratic party has changed" questions... so has the Republican...
