If you believe in God, then you believe he created the beginning of Earth and humans and etc.
However, if you believe in Evolution, you believe astroids and stuff created Earth and dinosaurs were there and we evolved from monkeys (By the way, dinosaurs came before monkeys, right? But anyways, then who came first: Cavemen or Adam and Eve?

Some people can twist it so they do.. I can't I accept evidence of evolution all around staring me in the face... I do not believe any one religion's "creation, beginning" story to be more probable than the next. In fact I think most if not all of them were primitive mans way of explaining the unknown, the mysterious.. I think we should move beyond that, we are smarter now... we have the ability to discover the why and how of things.. we dont need stories to explain it away and make us feel all warm and fuzzy.. we can find the truth whatever it is by questioning. Now that being said I dont believe in any religious writings at all.. I think they are embellished and edited far too much to be trusted. I dont however discount the possibility of some kind of god... whether it is Zeus, Thor, Odin or something totally different.. that question is still unanswered for me. There is not proof of such a being so far but if we keep questioning maybe one day we will find a way to reveal the answer. I guess you could say I just dont believe in something that has no direct, observable evidence or solid proof.. evolution has that proof, and what guesses we make to fill in the blanks will only be there until we find out the facts. With religion and god.. you dont have that and therefore I dont believe in it.

Adam & Eve came first. However, believing in God does not preclude believing in evolution as well, to a point. One of the greatest Christian philosophers and writers ever believed in evolution (C.S. Lewis). Evolution is easy to witness on a smaller scale in our lifetimes, as plants and animals adapt to certain situations and change how they react or do things. One theory that has been suppressed by the scientific community is as follows:
IF you believe the Bible is literal truth, you've got people living for centuries all over the place (and I could tell you why if you were interested). Now imagine these people aging, getting arthritis, and so on. Some scientist in Florida (I believe Florida, and I expect to get hammered for no exact documentation) ran an aging program to show what people would look like in skeletal structure especially, subjected to the ravages of 700+ years of aging. What do you know -- they looked remarkably similar to what scientists elsewhere have labeled as different types of hominids, bipeds, or what have you (homo habilus and all that other junk).
Interesting stuff -- too bad it's been thrown out of the scientific community, seeing that it followed all the so-called rules for how you're supposed to research and document yourself.

Nothing is inheirently irreconcilable.

When you get down to it on the subject of God it is a philosophical one entirely.

Did God only act to create the universe.

Does God tool around the Galaxy and occasionally create star-systems and uplift a bunch of monkeys and maybe somewhere he's uplifted some bees or fish or something.

Or is God just the resident planetologist.

Evolution and the cosmological formation of the universe are not irreconcilable with the concept of God in the slightest, what we seek truly and may never probably know is to find the proper place for God in the universe.

I think it's entirely possible to believe in evolution and God. Who's to say that God didn't start the universe by way of the Big Bang theory or whatever?

The way I see it, Adam and Eve were the first people and others may have evolved or whatever while their story was going on. Well, it's possible.

First of all, reptiles never stop growing. It’s just a simple biological fact that reptiles grow all their life and never stop until the day they die. You see, when you are 17 or 18 years old, you stop growing. You stay that height the rest of your life. Well, reptiles don’t do that. They just keep growing………and growing………and growing throughout their life and never stop until the day they die. In other words, the longer they live, the bigger they grow. Did you know that? Most people don’t. With that in mind, look at the genealogies from Adam and Eve up until Noah. You’ll find that just about everyone back then lived to be 900 years old. Adam died at 930. Noah lived till he was 950. One guy named Methuselah lived until he was 969. That’s more than 10 times longer than the average lifespan today. Now, whatever it was that would have allowed people to live 10 times longer back then, do you really think it would have just effected people? Don’t you think there’s a possibility that it might also have affected animals or plants? It wouldn’t just affect people. It would affect the whole ecosystem, including lizards. If lizards lived 10 times longer back then, and reptiles never stop growing, then you can imagine how big they would have gotten. Reptiles in the days of Adam and Eve would have been absolutely enormous. Lizards in the days of Noah would have been huge! If they lived 10 times longer, they’d grow 10 times bigger. So instead of having a 3 foot long iguana, like we have today, back then you’d have a………..30 foot long iguana! One of the very first dinosaurs ever found was the iguanadon. The man who found it said that its skeleton looked just like the skeleton of the iguana except it was a lot bigger. Well, guess how big it was? 30 feet! Scientists have found fossilized remains of crocodiles that reached up to 40 to 50 feet in length. They’ve found remains of sea turtles that reached enormous sizes much bigger than any sea turtle today. The reason why they got so big back then is because they lived so long in the days of Noah. The reason they can’t get nearly that big today is because they can’t live that long. The Bible also tells us what caused them to fossilize: Fossilization is a very rare and unusual occurrence, not an every day event. According to the best available evidence, animals and plants cannot become fossils unless they are buried relatively quickly and deeply in the appropriate materials. Creation Scientists have found that the conditions that would be most ideal for the kind of massive fossil formations found in the sediments would be a violent, global flood catastrophe. Dinosaur remains worldwide are associated with water-laid sediment. Kind of sounds like a worldwide flood doesn’t it? Well, not only does the Bible talk about a flood like that, but coincidentally, that flood just happens to have occurred in the days when reptiles and lizards would have gotten really, really big. So, the fact that we’re digging up the remains of gigantic reptiles and lizards up out of the ground, most of which are completely fossilized, this makes sense doesn't it? Dinosaur bones are evidence of a worldwide flood. After the flood occurred, the age of man very quickly dropped off from about 900 years down to about 100 years in just a few generations because of the harsh conditions on the earth after that catastrophic event. Noah died at 950, his son died at 600, his son died at 438, and so on. Because of these harsh conditions, many animals and plants went extinct, including many reptiles and lizards. Those reptiles that did not go extinct simply can’t grow as big as they used to. Thus dinosaurs are no longer around today. It is not a scientific fact that dinosaurs are millions of years old: At least six different radiometric dating methods are available. The assumed age of the sample will dictate which dating method is used because each will give a different result. For example: when dinosaur bones containing carbon are found, they are NOT carbon dated because the result would be only a few thousand years. Because this would not match the assumed age based on the geologic column, scientists use another method of dating to give an age closer to the desired result. All radiometric results that do not match the pre-assigned ages of the geologic column are discarded. Creation Scientist suspect dinosaurs did not become extinct until about 3 or 4 thousand years ago. Why? Because dinosaurs have been carbon dated around 3 or 4 thousand years. The flood in Noah's day occurred 4,400 years ago.

I believe in both. Listen. Who did Eve and Adam's children have sex with? When Cain killed Able and was sent away, didn't he start his own tribe? How? If we are related to monkeys, maybe Cain is marked by mankind's evolution. Just a philosophical thought.

Cavemen. Monotheistic religions are a fairly new phenomenon by any measurement of time. Gee, in my day, you had handfuls of gods to choose from. You kids these days.

PS. Evolutionary theory and I emphasis theory has problems. However, it is false dilemma to restrict the choices only these two possibilities.

So it is always surprising to see people who claim to be intelligent and educated to be creating false dilemmas and then denying them on having them pointed out.

Of course you can believe in evolution and God. Who is to say that what we call evolution, is not God's means of creation?

playing on beliefs, i have an idea that its possible that we were all cavemen and god found us, all stupid, gave us intelligence, and he left a huge imprint in our lives as someone who made us take our first steps towards growing into what we are now. the first neanderthals he evolved into cro-magnons were known as adam and eve
