Gosh that's a hard one. Thanksgiving? hahaha
No but seriously, school, work, relationships, family are all affected by technology. It's how so many communicate.

I was just thinking this the other day, sort of, when I thought, "my god, what did women DO before the invention of the vibrator?"

Nevertheless, I still write letters and write in my diary from time to time--that's relatively unaffected.

I also play the piano, swim, and run. These things are also basically unaffected, though I read about them on the internet all the time, so I don't know if that would count as "affecting" them.

None. In fact, technology often jump starts rural areas. For example, in India with the advent of cellular technology, places that had no infrastructure now have hi-tech phones and computers. They bypassed the entire age of laying wires and cables that we have in the West.

Even the most remote and isolated communities are touched by technology. The pollution that we generate to sustain this technology is felt around the globe. Air and pollution don't follow geopolitical boundaries.

Remote communities like the Amish are still affected by technology. Anyone who interacts with the government is affected by the technology.

going up close to a rose, like up close and very personal, and smelling it. all the king's horses and all the king's men can't duplicate that most sincere and tactile sensation. or holding a small baby human or animal. of the five senses, nothing compares to the real deal, baby! computers go down, tech fails from time to time but sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing still rules no matter what - all that and no batteries needed!

My life. We live in the country with several dogs, cats, goats and chickens, not to mention the wildlife. Severe weather knocks our power out frequently, and we still live. Our computers are simply communication devices. We even have satellite internet. I wonder if they thought that way about "virtual audio" (the telephone)! Or "virtual candles" (electric lights)!

For me, they are very simple pleasures. I like to hold the book I am reading. I like to use special pens, to hand write letters. When I am sharing time with a person, I like to look into their eyes, as they speak. I like to see window displays when I shop. You can't smell and feel nature on the Internet.
