Find one little reason and go from there. The way the sun shines through your window in the morning or how the stars seem to wink at you at night. Remember your family and friends. Even remember your friends on here, like ME! I know sometimes that things are bad and seem like they can't get any better, but they can. I've been there. I know. When I was so low I wanted to eat every pill in my bathroom, and there are a lot, the image of my beautiful granddaughter flashed through my mind and I realized things could be worse - for HER! And, if all else fails, remember there is a God who loves you and put you here for a reason!

I thought as you, at what appeared to be the end of the perpetual rope. I wrote out a list one day, to save my life. I thought of every good memory that I had and things that made me laugh/smile. I read the list out loud and asked myself if each word was worth living. In the end, I had quite a few checked off. I decided to wait it out, because I then new that each single day holds the chance for it to all turn around, or the next day and so forth. Days, weeks, months, years, and then one decade rolled past. I achieved a moderate few of the list goals, but I intend to finish the list off. The final goal is to fall in love. I'm sure when I get there, I won't need another list to get me by. :)

Trust me, I'm a clinically depressive hollow man. I lead the life akin to a true hermit. I live alone and wallow in pity that my mind isn't strong enough to block. Sure, I can end it all right now if I wanted to. I don't have any reason to keep on going asides from the ultimate responsibility to take care of my dog... but even without my dog, I still have hope and that keeps me going above all. One day, I'll have a smile on my face and it will all be worth waiting for.

She has a point. Are we a bunch of individuals, or a collective population? I think we're both...but too much emphasis has been put on doing what we alone want. It doesn't make sense since we have to integrate our 'uniqueness' into society anyway...unless you're somewhere that societal rules and interdependency doesn't affect you life. We ARE working towards a common goal; to continue living as long as possible. Despite the outliers of people who go against that, I think we are more similar and collectively altruistic that some might have you believe. It's the ideal that we are lone wolves who are special and working towards our own deserved wants that hurts us. Yes, we create our own meaning and our own goals...but that doesn't necessarily make us unique.

You were granted a life whereas someone elsewhere was not.
You can see, think, hear, speak, walk, talk, and dream. You are living in a free county. You could be living under tyrannical rule with no rights whatsoever. Other people in other countries suffer far worse than you and yet they continue.

The changing seasons, the beautiful colors of Fall, holidays every month, Thanksgiving and Christmas are almost here.... there's tons of reasons, though you may have to work at focusing on them. Try looking on the bright side of things instead of the negative. If you find yourself thinking negatively, tell yourself to stop and then think of a positive thought that opposes the negative one you were thinking.
It may feel stupid at first but you really do start think happier thoughts!

Because life is a gift and we should make the best out of it. I live each day to be with the people I love. Admire the beauty that is all around you.

The Sun, the Moon, the STARS, ..... soft caressing breezes kissing your cheeks, a happy cat purring around your ankles, walking through a corn field, while running wild and free LAUGHING to yourself :-D LQQking up at the tree tops continuously as long as you can while your walking and watching them sway in the wind. Writing in a journal positve affirmations to some cheer and inspiration

As you can see, you ARE LOVED.
We are all a part of one another; nature/tree's/the air we breath, animals, people
WE ARE ONE

I'll give you the best reason...(me)

I need you to live...(you would really bum me out if you were dead, cause then I couldn't waste time here answering your question(s)...I would be forced to do something productive, and income-producing, which is hard work, and I hate hard work...I don't even like easy work, and...

You don't need a reason...

There is no reason for existence...there is only existence...

It's a free ride, and believe me (I'm 43) nature is going to take you out very shortly...everything from old age (which seems to me to rushing at me like a freight train) to a swarm of killer bees to cancer to random violence to about a million other things that have an equal chance of squashing your existence flat before you can say..."What was th..."

Splat!

So no worries...no reasons...

Just ride it out, and I know for a fact (especially if you're female) that if you insist on having a reason, one will soon present itself to you...

How about helping someone...ever think about that? If you need help, it stands to reason someone else does, too...go find someone like yourself and help them, darn you...don't wallow in a pool of self-pity...get out there and do something for Chrissakes!

To post questions on Yahoo and watch for the answers that come your way.

To that you can add: answer the questions of other people who also need a reason to live.

Cheer up. This phase will pass. Start smiling -- that's a third reason!

Life has lots of opportunities and alot to offer.
People will miss you if you're not here.
No matter what you're going through things will get better.
Someone lives to see you smile.
To someone, you're the most important person in the world.
