Philosophy would be closely related to sociology which is a form of science that looks at human life, same with philosophy idea on human life. Yet one is a guess and ones own idea while another is actually much closer to facts that can be test and shown rather its true or false

Philosophy is the basis for ideas and theories in science. To be able to physically test and prove these philosophies, experiments are conducted to determine if the philosophy of the idea/theory is correct. Now you know why science was invented.

philosophy was and is the beginning of all science.
when people did not have the tools to test certain things (e.g. why we see only one side of the moon), they simply took the time to think about the problem and tried to come to a logical conclusion.
the funny thing is that philosophy asks most questions in science, but hardly ever manages to answer them satisfactorily.
