My right pectoral muscle is killing me. If I raise my arms in the air it hurts. If I push out my chest it hurts too. I think that this injury is a result of overtraining. Football season started up, and I didn't change my routine to a less intense one. Whatever, you live and you learn. But anyways I need advice on this injury. I've done a bit of research and I think it could be just a tear, but you never know, it could be something as serious as pneumomediastinum (hole in your lungs or something).

I'm probably going to the doc tommorow. But does anybody here know anythin about what I am experiencing?

Ask questions if you need to. THANKS

Another suggestion would be - If your pain or discomfort increases - call either your doctor or your local hospital and see if your doctor is on call or who might be for his group and they'll most likely call you something in for pain.
If you've torn anything or bruised a muscle - you - of course won't find this out till tomorrow when you see the doctor.
I wish I could tell you more - I've had surgery for a torn rotators cuff in my (L) shoulder. And I believe that I'll be having it looked at again here soon.
Whatever the problem - I wish you well and that its nothing that's going to require surgery.

no I'm sorry i dont know but I do hope you go to the Dr tomorrow!!
Meanwhile try to put an ice pack on it for about 20 'mins and then off for about 20 mins and then keep on doing that for a few hrs to help elevated the pain and swelling!
also try not to lift or anything strenuous until you get to the Dr!
also take a couple of ibuprofen if you aren't allergic to aspirin .
it will help reduce the pain and inflammation too!
Hope you feel better soon!

God bless!

muscle pulled. or you have a viral thing and will need zithromax (antibiotic) my kid was a lifeguard and got something like this at the begining of the season for two years in a row---also couldn't raise arms over head. Wouldn't worry, but you'll be out for a few days
