I need to do the work for Chemistry class, and I am completly lost.

So far ive done : 450 m/s= (1 min/60 sec) (1hr/60 min)

The two "sec" cross out and the two "min."

Then I got stuck.

thanks!

450 (miles per second) = 1 620 000 miles per hour

450 miles * 60 seconds in a minute * 60 minutes in an hour

Are you going from meters/second to meters/hour? If so:

450m/s x 60s/min x 60min/hr = 1620000m/h or

1.62 x 10^6m/h

Notice how the units cancel out leaving you with the proper units m/h

Well its pretty simple.

450 m/s

450 m/s x 60 = 27000 m/m

27000 m/m x 60 = 1620000 m/h

1620000 m/h

(Seconds per hour = 60min x 60 sec = 3,600s)

450m/s x 3,600s/hr = 1,620,000 m/hr (s cancels).
1,620,000m/hr (Answer).

( ÷ 1,000m/km = 1,620 km/hr (m cancels)).
