I have 3 books that I want to read but I have to choose one for my honors english class. I'm a sophomore in high school. The books are The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde, As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner and The Plague by Albert Camus. Which is the most interesting read, which is the easiest and hardest? Thanks!

Those are all excellent books and you should probably read them all at some point. Dorian Gray is my favorite book though, so I'd have to recommend that. It's the easiest of the three, but it's also great for writing about. I did my honors term paper on it in high school. You won't be going wrong with any of the books you mentioned, though.

The Picture of Dorian Grey is an easy read, and the meaning is pretty obvious. You have to decide whether that will impress your teachers though. Personally, I don't like Faulkner, but if you understand the culture of the South, that may work. Albert Camus is an existentialist of the first degree. Lots of food for thought and speculation. Might be the best.

I love Faulkner and Wilde myself. The Picture of Dorian Grey is an easier read than the others. As I Lay Dying is slightly more difficult, but I love Faulkner, so I would recommend that one.

As I Lay Dying is the best. Faulkner is America's greatest author. Pax- C
