Not sure of your age but I know it was the first book that "spoke" to me; that I thought the author really knew how I felt. I was about 12 or 13, I guess. It's amazing to get that feeling from a book but it's almost shocking the first time because I mostly just got through the books the teachers told me to read and didn't care one way or the other. Loved it!!

I agree with mamarat - it made me laugh out loud at some parts. I ended up both loving and pitying Holden by the end of the book... I loved it & I'd definately recommend it to someone else. (The only reasons someone should not read it are pretty specific to the individual - for instance, if the person really hates swearing, this probably isn't the book for him/her.)

It's the only book that's ever made me laugh out loud in a group of quiet people.
I'd recommend.

I personally hated the book. I thought Holden was a shallow self-centered Cad. Most people don't agree with me though.

no, definitely not. i read it and didn't see the sense of that book. i don't see why they considered it a classic. there were just plenty of cursing and stuff. would not recommend it to anyone
