BBT Question.?

Hi,
I was just wondering, to chat your BBT do you have to use a special BBT therm? Or can you use a regular one?
I want to start charting but not sure.
I've read stuff on the net but it doesn't seem to stay in my mind and I get very confussed.
I feel stupid asking this but could someone please tell me in steps how to do it.

www.fertilityfriend.com is a good place to start a chart (it's free) and you can use a digital therm to take bbt just make sure you do not sit up or anything like that just roll over and take your temp first thing every morning and the tricky part for me was having to take it at the SAME time everyday otherwise it will throw off your charts. Another thing you should consider (this was more helpful to me) is charting your cervical mucous. For me that was easier to comprehend then all the temperature stuff!

I prefer a BBT therm., got it at walmart for $5. But some women can use a regular fever therm and it works fine for them.
Get your therm. and pick a time to start temping. I just set my clock for the same time every morning, stick the therm in my mouth and go back to sleep. That's the great thing about a BBT one, they can recall the last temp, so when you go back to sleep and wake up later you can recall your temp from earlier. You only temp once per day, after sleeping for 3 hours and be sure to do the same time each morning.

You can use a regular thermometer to chart your BBT. Start checking it say, right after your period is over that way you have a set schedule to follow. You check your temp everyday before you get out of bed, when it rises you are in your ovulation time frame. Good luck!
