Mary Todd Lincoln was not his first love. A woman by the name of Ann Rutledge was Lincoln's first love. She died of typhoid before their engagement. Some say his marriage to Mary Todd Lincoln was a rebound situation and indeed Lincoln did call the wedding off once before they did finally marry.

i think you mean 'little known fact', because if they were unknown how would we know them? huh? anyway, there has got to be a site on the net. can't believe there isn't. i know you probably don't want to here this but hardly any teacher gives you a 48 hour homework assignment of this magnitude. sounds like you procrastinated. anyway, here's a couple little known facts. his wife, mary, is a southern belle but not his first love. mary was the most determined. also, abe believe he had ability for and in paranormal. it is no secret that a few days before his assassination he had a dream where he saw himself lying in state in the white house and that a spectral soldier told him that the president was dead due to an assassination. he and his wife were also very big on esp and the then new fad, photography and the spirits. hope this helps. oh and another thing, in the beginning, abe was ambivalent about slavery. when in the north he said whatever was needed to keep the north with him and when in the south, he told them that the issue of slavery was theirs but don't push it. to him, solidarity of the states was way more important than social and economic issues. he didn't care one way or the other. in fact, he did state that if he could prevent war with southern economic ways intact he would but if dissolution of slavery prevented war, so be it.

Lincoln had Marfan's Syndrome. It's a condition of the connective tissues of the body which is terminal. That's why he looked the way he did. Marfan's is characterized by a tall, gaunt body, bony knees and elbows, with overly large hands and feet. It also includes a mental pre-occupation with death and a high-pitched squeaky voice. If Booth had not shot him, he might have died of natural causes in his second term as President. The source listed below has more information on Marfan's.

Here's one that historians and genealogists are chewing on now. I don't have an opinion one way or the other, but it is interesting: Abraham Lincoln's father was not Thomas Lincoln, but a man named Enloe.

Lincoln almost drowned and he was afraid of dentists. He was colorblind and his shoes had to be special made. Lincoln is the only U.S. President to hold a patient. See below.

He evidently didn't charge enough in legal fees. His friend Ward Lamon wrote about it in his book.
I have attached a link from the Illinois Digital Archives of the full text of Lamon's reminiscences.
