Polygamist sects, as far as I know, only allow for men to have many wives but not for women to have many husbands.

Seeing as how the birth rate is something like 49% male and 51% female (+ or - 2 points) then it is statistically impossible for polygamy to work since eventually there won't be enough women to be paired off with men. How do polygamists solve for this problem?

Well, in one recent case, a bunch of male teenagers from a polygamist cult literally got abandoned by the side of the road, so they wouldn't compete with the older men for the up and coming crop of new wives, er, teenage girls. Jeez.

There are polygamist societies that practice polyandry.... multiple husbands for one woman... What ever works, and it works quite well... The children of one woman has then many fathers to support them, and hunt for them

And your statistic is meaningless... not every man, nor every woman even wishes to marry or be partnered.
