Grayden (there are a lot of ways to spell it)

Irish Mommy, I kind of feel the same way, that is why I am unsure about it. I like the name, but I don't like the names Aidan and Caden and it is almost the same.

I won't be needing it now, anyway. Just found out it is a girl!

Not into it. Just another "not-quite-an-Aidan." Predictable and boring, to be quite honest. Not to mention this particular "-ayden" sounding nearly identical to the word "grating" ... as in "all these rhyming Aidan names are really grating on my nerves." LOL I'll pass.

Edited to add: if it's the nickname Gray you like, have you considered Graham (or Graeme)? Gray is a wonderful shortening, the name's not part of a huge trend like Aidan/Caden/Grayden, et al, and if you prefer the subtle two-syllable pronunciation GRAY-um -- not as common in the states, but easily doable -- it's actually fairly similar to Grayden, minus the problems, of course. ;) Just seemed a good solution after reading your additional comments.

I don't care for it because of the two choices you have to pronouncing it. Either very properly and distinctly Gray-den, which is sort of snobby sounding, or the more common gra-un, with no one really saying the "d," which sounds tacky.

It sounds very dreary and sad. There are so many other names to choose from. Why not Brady or Grady or something?

Hate it..
keep it simple.
it's a name that people will mispell and mispronounce the rest of his life.

It reminds me of grading on my nerves. I don't care for it. I like Grainger.
