Just replace the CMOS battery then load fail safe default settings in BIOS, save and exit. You should be in business in no time at all.

CMOS battery is usually CR2032 lithium cell. Even some camera stores sell it. It is very cheap. Bought a pack w/ 2 pcs last week for $0.75.

If you keep changing the date and time, but it goes back to the wrong date and time after rebooting, I do believe it's the battery. All the computers I have opened, used the CR1230. You can probably buy it anywhere were they sell batteries.

Here is also something I found online:

"Some systems use a lithium battery that looks like a small oil drum on the motherboard. Others are coin-shaped units and are either attached with solder or placed in a holder. "Some systems may have a battery pack of three AA or AAA alkaline batteries," explained Rohrborough in her book, which covers batteries and power supplies at length. Finally, if you don't see a battery like the ones above, you might have a proprietary battery system, she adds. Check with your system's manufacturer or the motherboard manual you received with your system."

That's pretty normal! Just set the right time by double-clicking the time in the lower right corner of the screen. A window will appear. There you can configure the new time and date. If you unplug the computer and plug and turn on later and you see the time and date is wrong again it may be because the motherboard battery is out of charge. You have to buy a new one (3v battery). Hope this helps!

The first indication that your motherboard CMOS battery is dying is that your puter clock starts losing time. If you don't replace the battery one day your computer wont even boot.
