i'm buying a dell inspirion 1420 notebook computer, and i'm confused by this option should i get a: glossy, high contrast, widescreen 14.1 inch, or should i get a: anti glare, widescreen, 14.1 inch?

My thoughts:

anti glare

forget the 14.1 and go for nothing less than 15.4" if you can afford it. It does make quite a bit of difference in viewing and multitasking.

Most of your LTs now sold have a glossy or bright screen, it is a must for watching DVDs. Anti-glare is basicly for office work under bright lights.

goto bestbuy and look at 'em first. glossy may have a finish that increases glare, but some people like 'em if there is no direct light shining on the monitor

anti-glare is just that. not glossy. and anti-glare.

I have a matte and like it, cuts down on the glare, my sister has glossy and she is constantly wiping it clean, and it just looks dirty while the matte looks clean and doesn't show fingerprints.

Pick anti-glare if you're going to be using outside in the sunlight a lot!

i think you go for anti glare , this will give you good contrast & sharpness as well as less strain on your eyes. this will good for long time to your health .
