Why the administration chooses 9/11 to be the date Gen. David Petraeus come back to report the progress in Iraq. Is it just a way to stir up emotion? President flew to Iraq some days ago. Do you think the administration should do more on the benefit of the country rather than political struggle to fight the other party?

Congress has the Constitutional ability to salary conflict. It additionally has the Constitutional felony duty to suitable money. The a hundred and tenth Congress, no longer purely like the 108th and 109th Congress made the administration responsible for the money that have been appropriated. Petraeus grew to become into assigned by ability of the administration, to supply a document on the form of the conflict. Congress listened to the document and asked questions, that's what they are Constitutionally required to do.The document and solutions have been unsatisfactory.

It sounds pretty fishy to me.

General David Petraeus is nothing more then a sell out. He sold out the people under his command to further the agenda of George Bush.

I don't like sell outs, and I don't think history will be very kind to General Petraeus. I hope he has a conscience, because he will have to live with it the rest of his pathetic life.

President is the only one doing much . Dems keep fighting him at every turn. BTW General Pteraeus started reporting to congress on the 10th not the 11th.

Actually, he's doing it now because the Democrats are calling for the report. He just happened to do it 4 days early. He had until the 15th to report the occupation in Iraq.

Congress schedules congressional hearings. Not the administration.

(1) It doesn't matter what think, now, does it?

But I guess it gives those who want to make up conspiracy theories from anything they can get their hands on, something to play with.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

(2) I think that's up to the administration. I only vote. I don't try to dictate military strategy, national policy, or whatever.

It's easy to make up brilliant decisions after the results are in. Coming up with the original decision is hard. But Monday-morning quarterbacks aren't burdened with original decisions.

Well, that's when the democratic controlled congress asked for his report. Don't blame him or the Bush administration for the date.

this schedule was set up not by the President but by the Senate committee he is to deliver his report to.

Coincidence? I don't think so. Furthermore, despite the general's claim, the contents were probably scripted by the White House.
