I am a Democrat. But i dont like to be biased i vote for who is better not just cuz of party affiliation. So who of the republicans should i pay attention to? I dont like McCain, tho if he was the same as he was in 2000 he would have a much better chance. I dont like Guiliani and i dont like thompson. i havent heard much about romney or the others tho.

As for those who support Huckabee, I am a Arkansan living in the aftermath of his terrible, terrible gubernatorial actions.
He now claims to be anti-illegal, but he instituted many benefits for illegal aliens, including free prenatal care, a consulate in Little Rock he flew to Mexico to negotiate, although it is illegal for a governor to enter into foreign negotiations of that type. That consulate is now rendering aid to illegals on a daily basis. Costs to Arkansans for prenatal care for illegal aliens alone runs into the millions annually.
He embroiled our education system in court battles, that may never be resolved to the benefit of children.
He granted pardons to hundreds of prisoners without rhyme or reason and violated Arkansas law repeatedly with failures to notify victims', their families' and authorities in advance of the pardons. When a public outcry prevented the pardon of rapist Wayne Dumond, Huckabee arranged a quiet transfer to Missouri where Dumond was released to later murder a woman there.
Swiftly following the school shootings in Jonesboro, he released a book in which he basically blamed all bad behavior on mother's who work despite an economy that generally requires two incomes. He profitted hugely from a tragedy.
He has changed his "positions" since declaring his candidacy in many cases in direct opposition to his record. Actions speak far louder than words and his actions were not for the good of Arkansans.

If you do some research on Dr. Ron Paul (R), I truly believe you will vote for him. I consider myself an Independent, but have changed party's to Republican in order to vote for this man. He is the only candidate (Dem or Repub), who is purely "for" the people. Just take a look for yourself, please! Here... Sageandscholar... Ron Paul doesn't want to breech the 14th amendment. He wants to "CLARIFY" the 14th amendment (which was meant for Black slaves). The 14th amendment is being abused by anchor babies being born by illegal aliens. He is merely saying that any baby born to an illegal alien should also be considered "illegal". Then illegals can't come to this country & just plop out anchor baby after anchor baby & give them birth-right citizenship, where their illegal parents feel the right to march in our streets & protest (while waving the flag of their home country). I totally see his point & totally agree with him.

Mike Huckabee (coming from a Democrat). He is a good man. My second choice would be Ron Paul, but there is no way the good ole Republican boy's club is going to let him get the nomination. He should be running on the Independent ticket anyway. He's not what you would catergorize as a Republican.

I like Mike Huckabee for President. He hasdone more than Romney and on a lower budget. I suspect he will run the nation with similar fiscal responsibility. Besides any guy that cn trim 105 pounds off his own self can trim the Budget for the Nation, and he is for getting rid of the IRS.

I hate to say it, but it's Ron Paul. He's the only one in the bunch who pays more than lip service to traditional Republican values like Liberty and Small Government.

Unfortunately, his marks on fiscal responsibility are far lower.
