Okay, this isn't just some stupid PETA-bashing thing. I know it sounds horrible, but there are distinct simlarities between PETA and the nazis. They both have crazy ideals that they expect all others to live up to and agree with. Also, and this may shock some people, but they BOTH want to destroy that which they think is "imperfect." We all know that nazis killed millions of Jews, but what everyone might NOT know is that one of PETA's goals, for a LONG time, has been the total eradication of domesticated animals. The worst part is that they don't see what's wrong with it. Knowing this, doesn't PETA seem to be quite similar to the nazis?

Just so you know, I didn't just ask this for the heck of it. It was my idea for my English AP research paper.

jdiddley: I DID specify that. They're trying to completely eradicate all domesticated animals.

Sarah McGuinness: I not comparing the killing of chickens to the holocaust! Dear God, that would be horrible! I'm just saying that Nazis and PETA share similar values.

David J.: You may be surprised to know that PETA's so called "values" and their actions don't exactly coincide.

decoMari: What PETA shows is FAR from kindness and true love. I hate to burst your bubble, but they've already killed THOUSANDS of animals that they've ADOPTED, disposing their bodies in DUMPSTERS.

boogaflickah: Yeah...that's what THEY'VE told you. However, "domesticated animals" isn't limited to cows, chickens, etc. They've slaughtered thousands of dogs, cats, and other household pets. It really sucks, but it's the truth.

I agree. I had some extra time at work once a long time ago and went to their site. I watched the movie about how animals are being treated cruel when they are slaughtered. I was shocked. I told my husband who brought me back to earth saying that those locations were not filmed in the U.S but some third world country that does not have the regulations that we have. I then started visiting anti-peta sites, where I read the stories about peta workers adopting pets and then killing them and dumping them in a dumpster. There is no room for reason in their thinking. Plus, peta believes that no animals should be used for medicine, but the head of peta is a diabetic. All insulin comes from horse shoe crabs. A total double standard. Even though I do believe that we have a responsibility as humans to treat animals as humanely as possible, animal were put on this earth for our well being, for food, medicine, clothing and companionship.

I'm a vegetarian and support animal rights and I do think PETA can be over the top. But so are the truth company (with the commercials), you know the anti-smoking one. Except that it's a human issue which people can relate to, people can't relate to animals as much. PETA is trying to get their point across just like every other company/association. To some extent PETA is like the Nazi's because they both want something just like you said. PETA isn't as violent. I don't really support either. You can help animals without persuading everyone that eating meat is sinister. People have been eating meat since the beginning of time. What PETA and Nazi's had most alike is not respecting peoples opinions. People can eat what they want, and have their own religious ideas. That's what I think. Good idea for a paper it's a really controversial thing.

No, dont badmouth an organization that stands up for animals rights. The Nazis were racists who murdered innocent people- PETA saves animal lives. What is crazy about PETA? Just because you do not agree with their motives does not make them cruel, sinister murderers(Nazis)
PETA does encourage vegetarianism and veganism but if you don't go to their website you dont have to hear them. It's okay to have compassion and I dont hate people who eat meat either!

I support PETA and do not want to eradicate domesticated animals! That would be cruel and terrible. Why do you think that this is their goal?
I do not support the fur trade or testing on animals, I don't eat them either. What is wrong with that? That was a bad comparison that you made, sorry.

The eradication of domestic animals would be due to a completely vegetarian world, not because they would be mass-slaughtered (that's what they are now). The Nazi comparisons are so old, most pro-meat propagandists don't go there anymore. PETA is against cruelty to all animals. Theya aren't against having pets, etc.
Eating meat supports animal cruelty, despoils the environment and wastes energy. Not to mention the scientifically-proven fact that vegetarians are healthier than meat-eaters. A meat-based diet uses 4000 gallons of water a day. Vegan: 300 gal.
PETA seeks an end to animal cruelty through education, not violence or forcing anyone into anything. Check out govegan.com to get the straight scoop from them.

When you put it that way, yes they do.

But with a few swaps I can hold any groups with a political, philosophical or religious agenda to the same light.

Christians, anti-drug advocates, the NRA, libertarians. Try swapping out a few words here and there and see what happens. Ask the right person they will find one of the group's ideals "crazy" and cite a goal that's "wrong" in some manner, even though the group in question does not realize the wrongness of it.

By your low, nonspecific standards ALMOST EVERYONE is similar to Nazis.

I think you're similar to Nazis.

IMHO PETA can be pretty stupid, but in a way that doesn't resemble Nazis.

I don't think you can generalize a whole group as all wanting the same thing. Do you know a good amount of PETA members to accurately come to this conclusion? Even if you do know a good amount, it does not account for other members outside of your area, and therefore is not a conclusive generalization.

It's like when people say feminist are bra burning, man hating, and obsessive persons. My teacher is a feminist, and guess what- she wears a bra and she's married.

Stereotypes and faulty generalizations aren't a credible way of depicting a group of individuals.

Also, I'm more concerned about the similarities our President bares to a Nazi then the PETA foundation.

Here is the real question: who doesn't think PETA is like the Nazis?

The blood pored on the infidels is like the little things saying "Jude" that the Nazis would force Jews to wear.

Jdiddley, what race are they trying to eliminate?
THE HUMAN RACE.

I think that is one of the most ridiculous comparisons i've ever seen.
On the one hand we have a far-right extremist political party, hell-bent on conquest, the creation of the "perfect" race, the genocide of Jews, and all manner of other such pleasantries.

And then we have PETA, who are trying to reduce unnecessary animal cruelty (such as the fur-trade).

I'm curious about the comparison, because I sure as hell can't see it.

You forgot the will go through hell and high water to prosecute you in court for so much as looking like you wish to eat a Thanksgiving turkey.
David, he means it in a figurative sense, not literal.

And where do they obtain this blood that they pour on bystanders? If it's human blood then they should be prosecuted in court. If it's animal blood, then that makes them hypocritical in a sense.

And Agent Orange makes a good point.
