People have been predicting the end of the world since ancient times. December 2012 is just one more date. The only way that you can predict the end of the world in a scientific context is when one studies the orbits of asteroid/comets and determines that it intersect the Earths orbit on some future date, and the Earth happens to be in the way.
All other methods are false, bogus, designed to make a quick buck. But, the Mayan did have a great calendar, more accurate than our own we use today...

You never know. I was watching the science channel and they said that a huge asteroid is heading for Earth in the year 2037 and it will or will get very close to hitting the earth. If it doesn't then the next year it will be on the earths rotational pattern and it will hit us dead on. But they are trying to find ways to block it. Like sending out something to hit it and bounce it off track (like that episode of Jimmy Neutron lol). but yeah you never know.
And really if the world was going to end, it would be on something more than a little show on the history/discovery channel. But no one knows when its the end of the world.

No, I don't think that is possible. And I don't think there are going to be some big changes either, which by the way would be a much different and less significant thing than the world ending.

i think of this is impossible for everybody to comprehend if something will take place interior the destiny, some are becoming extremely fortunate with some ambitious predictions, yet whilst it does, its no longer gonna rely, each and every person dies at last. If it seems to be actual, then it kinda ability that there is a being greater desirable than us for who could have warned the Mayans that the international could end? This will strengthen some philosophical questions does not it? yet for everybody to declare flatly that the international will end on December 21, 2012 could be extremely silly, because of the fact no one is time-honored with.

The History Channel is totally irresponsible fror broadcasting fearmongering shows like this. Nothing like this is predicted to happen by any scientists.

Do some research, search in google: winter solstice 2012. Think for yourself don't believe everything you read, but don't be closed minded. Be skeptical, but not irrationally so.

I highly doubt it. Its just like Y2K. The people who come up with these ideas are crazy. However, we will only know on that date.
