I mean it seems sort of suspicious. I've never seen this once a verdict has been entered. Are the repubs playing with the law again?

Don't know, but important thing is what comes of it regarding Craig continuing in the Senate. And on that count, even if some judge reverses the verdict, I don't think the Republicans are in any position to welcome Craig back to the Senate!
. . . although on issues where the reasonable and sane thing to do seems obvious, I've unfortunately been wrong before.
(Prime example: Bush won't actually invade Iraq!)

Oh please, he has far more to fear from a conservative Republican than a liberal judge. A conservative judge will hang him out to dry just to show that he is unbiased.
