NFL ruled that the Patriots cheated against the Jets by stealing signs. They were caught doing this before against the Packers. What does this say about all their championships?
If Bonds was ever caught for using steriods, they would, at the very least, put an asterisk next to his homerun record.
I read the NFL might take away draft picks and fine the Pats, but clearly this is not enough. They should give the win to the Jets and put an asterisk next to all their titles coached by Belichek.
Do you agree and why?

I know that there's no way to see if the Patriots cheated in the past, but pretend that Barry Bonds admitted to steriod use during one season and one season only. Don't you think MLB would put an asterisk next to his record and not just blot out the cheating season?

I dont agree cause if they did cheat than that was only for one game, it shouldnt effect the earlier seasons.

The fines and draft picks is fine, but what the NFL should also do is not let Belichek on the field during the games. Don't even allow him to watch the game for the whole season. Maybe even the offensive coach. This would take away what they know, and then see if the Patriots could be the same they were. Either that or hurt them in some other way.
As far as the people who are cheering on calling the non fan's suckers, if you want to back a cheater, then that is on you, but that makes you a lot less of a person, and in reality, a loser.

There have been other instances of cheating in the past. These have also been in really big games (the Superbowl).
In 1999, the Rams won the Super Bowl, in case you didn't know. After the season, a report came out about the decibel levels in their stadium during the season and in the playoffs. It was found out their people had been raising the music and noise levels in the stadium every time the other team was on the offensive side, reducing their ability to hear each other.
I personally think this is just as big an issue as stealing signs. When the NFL found out this, all they gave them was some fines. I think this warranted much more than that. Now, I don't think the NFL will do much to the Patriots either, even with a new commissioner.

reckoning on how lots media interest this might get it ought to have an * by capacity of their wins. certainly if proved they could do away with those titles. they have taken away college titles for violations. they have taken away Gold medals interior the Olympics for violations. it incredibly isn't any distinction for the NFL. maximum probable it's going to be an unofficial asterisk by capacity of their call interior the minds of the followers and media. particular they have been fined, yet not heavily. They have been fined for 365 days. they have been doing this for a number of years. so a great way as what number different communities have performed this; the Patriots have been caught. i'm helpful extra human beings than Chris Webber or Reggie Bush has taken money collectively as in college, yet they have been uncovered! Michigan grew to become into stripped of its championship. They lost some scholorships and that they have got been snctioned. If the penalty is harsh adequate extra human beings will think of two times approximately cheating. college scholars that are broke and their kinfolk that are broke will nevertheless be objectives like the Bush kinfolk, yet they could lock up the desire to be agent who admitted given them the money. Impose fines and or penal complex time for different keen adults who knowingly participated.

No asterisk and no taking away games. What the NFL should do is require all teams to cheat or at least try to cheat. This way you know everyone at least has the same opportunity. Same with MLB. All players should be required to take steroids. Everyone would be on a level playing field. Those that survived anyway.

only if there was a way to prove it. I mean the accusations come from the Pack last year and Jets this year no other years and only last year when the Pats started to struggle. No other incidense escpecially during the superbowl years. While what the Pats did was wrong and unfair it is unfair to take away what theyve done in the past because of something that happens 3 years later. There not accused of cheating in the SB years no *. And by the way the Pack last year told the NFL not to review the pats tapes because the admitted that they flat out got beat no excuses.

You would only put in * if you could prove they cheated durin the season they won the championship!! Fair to say this could have been a new thing that started last year with them! No proof that it was done in the seasons they won the championship!
I do believe they should have to take the loss for the game! They will be watched carefully for the remainder of the season and i hope they win win win without the signs!! What are you going to do then want to put an * when they were watched the rest o the season???

I think they need to forfeit the first game of the season and lose their first 3rd picks next year. They need to send a statement and make sure people in the nfl realize it is going to happen. Goddell seems to be tough so far but this will be his true test to see if he is going to clean up the nfl or not. Don't shock me any though since they were accused a couple years ago also that they are doing it

personally i am a patriots fan and to hear that they would videotape signals is dumb in their part
its mainly dumb that they got caught
they are a good enough team that they dont need to cheat
and i think they should give a warning
because seriosuly
i am willing to put my hand in the fire that the patriots arent the only ones doing this
the rest of the teams feel relieved that its not them who got caught
most of them cheat
its just the patriots were dumb enough to get caught
....that is if they did cheat

if you do that you should take away the 95 superbowl win from the 49ers for circumventing tha salary cap by giving incentive bonuses and small base salaries to sign players like norton and sanders.the jets cheated too by signing players the pats cut just to get plays and audibles from them so it went both ways.why would anyone have to cheat to beat the jets anyway?they couldnt beat the michigan wolverines must less an nfl team.
