The square root of 6 is 36 and the square root of 7 is 49. Thus, any number between 36 and 49 will have a square root between 6 and 7. The same reasoning applies to all the other pairs of numbers as well.

Find a number with a square root between each of the following numbers.

Take the first example. Find a number with a square root between 6 and 7.

6² = 36
7² = 49

So all of the numbers 36 < x < 49 have a square root between six and seven. The others are done in the same way.

Well the square root of 36 is 6 and the square root of 49 is seven so all you have to do is pick a number in between 36 and 49 for example 40

I think it wants you to work out the question like this:

e.g,
the first question is 6 and 7,

so you work out which number would give you the answer 6 when you work out its aquare root, (6x6=36)
so the square root if 36 is 6.

keep this 36 number to one side.

Next do the same for 7; which number will give a suqre root of 7?

(7x7=49), do as before, keep this 49 to one side.

so then you have to find the number inbetween these numbers (36 and 49) to work out which number will give a square root inbetween 6 and 7.

You can do this by adding 36 and 49 and dividing by two. This number when square rooted via calculator should give a number around 6.5

I'm just going to get you started.

The square of 6 is 36.
The square of 7 in 49.

So you need a number bigger than 36 but smaller than 49 to make the square root of that number to be between 6 and 7. For instance, the square root of 40 is 6.325, so that would be an example of a correct answer (40).

I don't know where the other people went to school but 36 is not the square root of 6 but the square of it.

Wow I am glad you told me about the line______________for I was having trouble with that part.

I used the calculator on my computer. The number between 6 and 7 is 6.50 and the square root of 6.50 is 2.549509. using the calculator click in 6.50 and then sqt and that will get you the square root of the number between 6 and 7. Instead of me doing all of this for you since it is your homework, you do the rest. The number does stretch out farther but probably has no end in sight.

well, 6^2=36 and 7^2=49 so any number between 36 and 49, say for example 40, will have a square root between 6 and 7. the rest are done the same way.

6^2 = 36
7^2 = 49

So, any number between 36 and 49 will give you a square root between 6 and 7.

For example, square root of 40 = 6.325
which falls between 6 and 7.

Similarly for the rest.

It means find the square root of a mixed number. So you'd find the mixed number of 6 1/2, 5 1/2, 10 1/2, 12 1/2, 13 1/2, and 15 1/2.
