1967
Of course I must pick the year of my birth, but also the year of a lot of great music.....and the Summer of Love!
The 80's
That was the decade where I started to become the person I am today. That for me was a very special time.
There also was a lot of good music, movies and the world still cared without being too politically correct.
There are probably better years and much more profound reasons to pick a year and a decade, but these are personal.
Peace.

The 1980s.
The Entertainment was great. Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones etc.. The music Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, and some great dance songs. Rick Astley, UB 40, Robert Palmer.
Sports was good. The Celtics/Lakers rivalry in basketball. The Islanders/Oilers dynasty in hockey. The 1980 olympic upset vs the Soviet Union. Bill Buckners error. The '84 Tigers (I'm a Tigers fan). Doug Fluties hail mary in college football.
I won't begin to go into poltics and Reagan's Rule because that was a major downside, but at least we had some good sports and entertainment to take are mind away from that.

1969 woodstock I would have loved to been there.
the sixties because there was free love the idea of freedom and all the social turmoil cesar, malcom, martin, and all the others. The landing on the moon. Long hair and beads. It just seem like fun at that time. I was born in sept '69. almost didnt make it.

I'm only 21, so I don't have many decades/years to choose from...but I'll go with 2004 because I started college which was so amazing and a huge milestone for me, for anyone!

1960 is my pick for year...it was before the Cuban missile crisis and Viet Nam and before Kennedy was shot...America was not at war and it was a time of prosperity and innocence. After Kennedy was shot everything changed!
there is no good decade...there were groups of 3-5 years but not 10 together...I would pick the Reagan years as the best group...no one messed with America when Reagan was president...

I have to say the 70's as the best decade. I remember Jimmy Hendrix, Woodstock, love beads, long straight hair and embroidered jeans.

40's. Even though there was a war going on, it was still happy times. We coped with the rationing of food and gas. The Big Bands and Swing had excellent music. People were nice.
50's. These were great years, also. I was in my teens, and they were "Happy Days". Loved the Rock and Roll!
