You know, I'm guessing that you've inherited this bucket of coins, or have been given it by a friend or relative, and would be happy to just get rid of it -- instead of going through all the brain damage of ebay, etc.

Separate anything that's silver, or that is really old, or even somewhat old but in terrific condition.

Take them to your neighborhood coin dealer. Explain to him what you want to accomplish and get the best offer you can.

Give any coins left over from this process to kids in your family or neighborhood. Who knows -- they might get the coin bug and become collectors!

Sort out all the ones that have actual metal value
(gold or silver ) and take them to a coin dealer .
Find them in your local yellow pages .

Foreign coins are usually inexpensive metals & rarely worth more than the conversion rate , which banks do for paper $$$ but not the lesser coins .
Foreign coins are usually less than a nickel , unless you are talking the spanish gold dubloons (did someone raid the warehouse ?)
