to the guy above me, he asked for an explaination. not a pot induced babble about psuedo-science.
i dont think there are multiple universes. because for that to be true there would have to be a physical boundry to each universe, like a big wall and that doesnt make sense to me at all. and if the universe is expanding then how can it be surrounding by other universes, wouldnt it be making all of them shrink. and if there are several sphereicle unvierse what is in the space between them? the big bang supposedly created space and not only matter and time, so the area between the unvierses would have no space, but then there couldnt even be an area between them at all.
this si a popular view on the boundry of the universe.
Well the big bang theory says that the primevil atom exploded and when it did that released so much raw energy that it actually created space and time. so the expansion of space would have to have a speed, because nothing is instantaneous thats quite impossible. so there has to be a point where space stops, and when space stops you cant go any further, there is nothing. thats different from there being no matter. having no space is like having 1 atom, but no where to put it.
so if there is a definate boundry to space then there has to be something beyond it, and there would have to be a spot you cant go any further, this is also impossible. because nothing can be beyond the limit of space because theres, obviously, no space. and there cant just be a wall that you hit and cant go any further, no credible scientist believes that. so what is the universe expanding into?
the only answer that allows all of that to be true is that the universe is 4 dimensional. so if you went in a shuttle forever in one direction you would never reach the end, you would just end up right back where you started (this is not a sphere, its a hypersphere which is a 4 dimensional sphere. if it were a sphere there would have to be something outside of it).
a good example of a 4 dimensional object like this (its not really 4 dimensional, but its has a property of 4 dimensional objects, it doesnt have an end) is a mobius strip.
take a piece of paper and cut and inch long strip, then twist it 180 degrees (so it looks like DNA does) and then tape the 2 ends together. you can now take a pencil or pen and start at the taped end end draw a line one direction. you will draw the line on both sides and end up back where you started.
as for life. there are over 150 billion galaxies we can see. each with over a billion stars. thats over 150 quintillion stars and im sure most of those have some sort of planet even if we havent noticed them yet. so the chances that we are alone are 1/150,000,000,000,000,000,000.
no i do not think there is a paralell universe. i have no evidence to back it up, just a thought.
the name black hole is decieving. its not really a hole. its an extremely dense point, so its really the opposite of a hole. when something gets sucked into a black hole it just adds to the mass of the center of the black hole, or singularity, which is a point that is infinitely dense because its a 1 dimensional point, no height no width no nothing. one theory was that everything came out of a white hole in another universe, and it was backed up my math. but it was disproven by the laws of science, specifically the 2nd law of thermodynamics.
my personal idea is on the end of the universe, and is a combination of the big rip theory and the oscillation theory.
dark energy in our unvierse is making the galaxies expand faster and faster. so eventually it will have it all expanding at the speed of light depending on how much matter there is in the universe. when something with mass aproaches the speed of light its mass starts to grow. if it reached the speed of light it would have an infinite mass and require infinite energy, so something can only get close to speed of light, buts its mass would still increase. so it would accelerate to near light speed and things would get larger and start to get flung off of galaxies, eventually things would be moving so fast that stars and planets would disintegrate. thats where the big rip theory ends and i start to improvise. we would then be left with a huge mass of dust and gas that is continually growing larger as it gets closer, but never reaching, light speed. so eventually gravity would bring it all back together, friction would heat it up until it turns back into the primevil atom, which was the particle from the big bang. this particle is all energy, no matter, since when u heat matter to about a billion degrees it becomes energy.
sry for makin u read so much....haha
geteazymoney, thats a theory, not a fact and dont state it like it is a fact. its also a theory that is loosing popularity. multiple universe theory and string theory have so many holes in them that people dont seem to believe them anymore.

- the universe does not end, it is infinate. finity is very much a human concept.
- there is no multiverse, since the universe is all that is, any other bubbles would be part of 'all that is'
- yes, there is life elsewhere, the odds are to great for it not to be. there are atleast 20E10^23 stars in the universe, many will have 4 planets or more. the odds that on one of those planets life might have also evolved is to high. secondly, it would be very selfish of us to think that were the only ones.
- no there is no paralell universe. besides what would an exact opposite be? this idea was a media populorisation to the discovery of antisoundwaves, and the prediction of anti-matter. a person made of antimatter, in exact same (opposite) configuration of your body wold be a stretch.
- black holes dont end, they arent actually holes, just massive gravity wells that pull in light and matter to a single point / small point and crush it.

Watch science channel and discovery channel specials, especially one titled, "Parallel Universe". It can be found under documentaries at www.tv-links.co.uk . There ARE parallel universes and an infinite number of them. Ours was created by the contact between two ripples of two other universes. There are an endless number of universes existing less than a millimeter from us. To support this, think of gravity. It has been theorized that gravity is a product of another universe. Compared to other forces of nature, gravity is weak. If the sun can pull the earth and other planets from such great distances, why doesnt the earth crush us with its gravitational power?-gravity is leaking into our universe from a parallel universe.

This is all just personal opinion with no research done.
I don't think the universe ends. It continues on to infinity.
There is only one universe. Thats what the universe is: everything.
I think there is life elsewhere. We can't be the only planet with life.
There is no parallel universe.(As I've said before, this universe is everything.)
And black holes don't empty what they swallow. What goes in just gets crushed to such a small amount that it practically dissapears.
Thats just what I think.

our universe will end
ther is just one universe
no ther is not a parallel universe
there is no "other side". A black hole is a collapsed star that has so much matter it generates a gravitational pull strong enough to "suck in" light itself. when you get close enough to it you get pulled toward the event horizon, which is a point at which there is no possible way to get out.
as for some personal ideas, (this is fact) quadrillians of tiny wormholes appear at the quantum level. the problem with getting them to open wider is that the wormholes get "stopped up", so to speak, with matter and energy. so what we need to do is to collect anti-energy from black holes, feed it into the wormhole, thereby widening it.

Does our universe end? We recently discovered a 100 million light year wide expanse of space WITH NOTHING IN IT. If you want to call that Universe's end, then it's there--as well as it's beginning, too.
Multiple and/or parallel universes? A simple, anyone can do experiment, discovered at Stanford University strongly suggests the possibility of such existence. Michael Chricton briefly explains the experiment in his book "Timeline".
Black holes, or "Space Tornadoes"--as I like to call them DO expel their energy. Where is anyone's guess, for NO life can survive being drawn into one and expelled out the other end.
Life elsewhere in the Universe: I share Carl Sagan's take on this: It exists--but they're too far to contact us and vice versa with us on Earth. Bacterial life on Mars is a possibility. And aquatic life on, I belive one of Venus' moons that IS known to possess oceans may be another possibility. But do we really want to encounter such life forms?
Today, America discovered how to make fuel out of saltwater. Bad news for OPEC, American Big Oil and the fossil fuel lobby in Washington D.C., for there's NO excuse not to make this applicable in energy and automobile techonology; the secret's out.
Other whiz-bang ideas: I forsee controllable magna-lev devices close ahead, calling a end to ball bearing devices, air-cooled and oil lubricated dynamo engines.
Anti gravity ability: Edison and Tesla both were rumored to be toying with this. Prominent colleges are already exploring this feat (with comfy military grants, of course). This may be ahead more sooner than we expect, if people experiment with the infinite radio frequencies existent.
How cool would it be for a lay educated Mid-West farmer to dumb-luckily stumble on anti-gravity ability??

We used to think of stars, planets, and galaxies have been photographs interior the sky submit there by capacity of the gods to immortalize the hero. Now all of us be attentive to it incredibly is not actual, and we've discovered many new structures, planets, galaxies, nebulas, etc.
