what can i do to get ready....i think cheer is a cool sport to join and make friends, but im not sure about it because of the girls, they might be popular and snobby. what if i dont know anyone there? im extremely shy? help me!!??

I'd strongly suggest that you take a hip hop or jazz dance class to get some dance experience under your belt. I don't know if this is offered, but maybe try a beginning tumbling class for teenagers. Most cheer squads require you to be able to do some basic tumbling passages, or even flips. You will also have to be able to do splits as well...you can read numerous postings on this site on how to do them.
As for the girls on the team, try to get to know some of them before deciding if you want to join. Being popular doesn't always mean that a person is snobby. Also, don't be afraid to look into other activities that highly interest you. Sharing interests with others is a great way to come a bit more out of your shell. There's nothing wrong with being on the side side or being introverted, but you do have to be careful because you don't want to come across as shutting people out.

starting taking a tumbling class at your local gymnastic studio now! that way youll have months and months of practice, and by the time you try out youll be good enough to make the team.
also, taking a hip hop class will help out a lot too.
and dont worry about girls who are snobby, because im almost positive that once you get to know them better..theyre not going to be as bad as they seem. im almost positive on that

i think you should start gymnastics. and cheerleaders arent as bad as their reputation makes them seem. im not a cheerleader, but i know people that are, and theyre really nice.
