They're already Improper Fractions.....
but if you mean mixed numbers...

7 3/4 ------ 5 2/9

2007-09-11 13:52:04 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

3 4/7 = 21/7 + 4/7 = 25/7
6 1/5 = 30/5 + 1/5 = 31/5

I think you meant the reverse for the last two.

31/4 = 28/4 + 3/4 = 7 3/4
47/9 = 45/9 + 2/9 = 6 2/9

47/9 is an improper fraction already

To make it to an improper fraction you multiply the denominator and the whole number and then add the numerator. You keep the same denominator.
Answers: 25/7, 31/5

To make it to a mixed number (which is what I hope you mean), you see how many times the denominator goes into the numerator, which would be the whole number. Whatever is leftover is the numerator and you keep the same denominator.

to convert a mixed number to an improper fraction.......
multiply the denominator by the whole number, then take this product and add the numerator to it......last take this value and put it over the original denominator

for the first one for example it would be
7*3+4 which =s 25
then put that over the original denominator, 7
so the answer is 25/7

i hope that helps you...good luck
