I enjoy books in which teens deal with problems like drugs, sex, relationships, etc., or books where the main character is an outcast. (like Perks of being a wallflower.)

Try:
White Oleander
Please Don't Kill the Freshman
Running with Scissors

All deal with teens and sex/drugs/relationships, and each protagonist is, in some way or another, an outcast. Both PDKtF and RwS are true stories, or based on true stories. All amazing.

Judy Blume, Jean Craighead George, John Neufeld, Francesca Lia Block would be my faves.

Below are just a few of the sites that have good booklists for teens, with synopses or reviews. Then also look up books that fit subjects that you are interested in---so many books, so little time!!

What about the Lord of the Flies? It is not exactly what you are looking for, but it deals with relationships of schoolchildren and how these change from civil to savage when confronted with each other on a deserted island. Wonderful read.
