Sometimes I love hearing about it because I am nosey but I do try to avoid getting sucked into the drama of others. This doesn't mean that I do not try to help someone who has a problem if I can help; I would never avoid a friend just because he or she has some drama in their lives.

I can't avoid it but I don't snoop, either since I'm a school psychologist. I don't ask leading questions; the kids will volunteer whatever they wish to discuss. But inevitably I do end up sharing in their life stories - and whatever dramas - as you so sardonicaly put it - are taking place in their lives currently.

I used to like hearing those stories, but now I avoid them because I never know if the same could happen to me. I guess I'm kind of superstitious in that way.

I snoop, but not directly, I hear stories from my friend describing people I used to live near and hang around with sometimes, I'm not in their circle anymore since I moved.
