I personally don't think you do. I realize it was a fringe group that the entire Muslim population is not responsible for.

Ameen Sister, Ameen.
No matter what we do, this is the way it will be for Muslims for a very long time. Until the unrest in the Middle East resolves itself (Insha Allah), Osama is finally captured, and Al Qaeda and other terroristic organizations are destroyed, Muslims will be forced to deal with the hatred in the West and other countries that have been effected by terrorists. All we can do is be ourselves, be loving, show compassion and understanding. Do not hold peoples negative view of Islam against them, they don't understand. Be strong sister, tell those who question you and your faith how you feel about 9/11, be kind and gentle with your answers, as you know you can be.
God bless you

Dear,
Assalamu'alikum Warahamullahi Wabarakatuh.
Firstly, I appreciate for your instinct of responsibility towards your religion -ISLAM. Your devotion is been admire.
You're 9 -11.
You're not born at that time and so do I.
You need not to "APOLOGIZE".
Lets it be what ever it is. Pray to God that you'll be faith full to Islam and be a strong believer in ALLAH, the only one God, The creator and The Governor of the universe and love Muhammad bin Abdullah s.a.w. as witness by you and me that he is the prophet and the messenger of Al-Mighty God ALLAH subhanahu Wata'ala.
Wabillahitaufiq Walhidayah Wasalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

You don't.
I'm a Jew, and i do NOT think that all Germans have to apologize for the Holocaust. i'm actually in good relations with some Germans.
I assume you just had an unfortunate experience, not a very rare thing for someone who's part of a minority, like you and me.
It happens, and i know (and i'm sure you know it too) that not ALL Americans hate Muslims and expect them to apologize...
peace.

Apologise is the British variant of apologize. Grammatically both are correct. It solely depends on your country of residency. It's quite sad that you were criticized because both forms are absolutely acceptable.

we all should only have to apologize for our own wrongdoings. but in this world, there are a lot of stupid people who blame everyone of a certain colour, religion, or nationality for everything that has been done by anyone of the same colour, religion,or nationality. Americans can probably relate to this better than i can, being a Canadian. Americans are being blamed, no matter what their political, religious, etc, stance, for the decisions made by their government.

You don't, unless you think it was a good thing that they carried out that terrorist attack against innocent people. Anyone who believes that should apologize! But if you don't agree with it, then you owe no apology simply because you are also Muslim.

I understand what you are saying, and believe me, people can really be cruel. The problem is that innocent people get hurt for bad people's actions and as you proved with your question, it has been happening since the beginning of time, and it will continue to happen until humanity realizes that we are all connected and whatever we do to someone else we do to ourselves. What's even worse is when a victim mentions injustice and people say, "Get over it!" Because to them what's done is done but I will never forget Wounded Knee, Sand Creek, Trail of Tears, Rosewood etc.

You don't have to apologize for that, if someone wasn't a part of those things you listed, they shouldn't have to apologize for any of them. Although you have a very good point, I gave you a star =D

You don't . Don't let things that were done by others be your burden to bare. It is to heavy a load , let it go. But , have compassion for others, no matter who they are, no matter they're color , religion, national origin. It may seem like a small thing but if everyone did the same , It would be heaven, right here on earth.
