i'm iffy on that. It's tough to put up the numbers he does year after year. However, usually the best player of all time does well in the playoffs -- this is coming from a Yankee fan too btw. He'll easily make the HOF and will probably break Bonds' career HR record too. I love the guy and he is definately in the talks at the best player ever. But that question can go either way!

Hes one of the best, but lets put the brakes on for a minute. The only way you are going to say where A-Rod or any other athlete is compared to the all-time greats is when their career is over, or just drawing to a close. Alex-barring injury-has a number of good seasons left in him, since hes only 32 and seems to have that strong, basically injury free constitution that the great baseball record setters have had(Rose, Mays, Aaron, Ryan, Spahn, etc.). I'd be happy to include him in the ranks of the "very best of the very best", but lets give the guy about 4-5 more seasons first.

The best player of all-time is Babe Ruth, Barroids be damned. A-Rod is a GREAT player, possibly the greatest of this era. It's way too early to be having this debate, though. If Alex stays healthy he will break Barroid's illegitimate single season and career records. Even if Alex becomes the all-time HR king, wins a World Series and even a Triple Crown, he still won't be Babe Ruth. Babe Ruth was in a class all by himself. Hell, he sometimes had seasons where he hit more homeruns than other TEAMS!

A-Rod is not the best player of all time.....He is probably the greatest player of his time....He has alot of BIG SHOES to fill if you want him to be known as the best player of all time......read this link http://members.aol.com/speaker606/jim/lists/ballplyr.html..... He might be in the top twenty of all time...IF he stays healthy mental and physical and keeps up his numbers he will be in the top 5 because he should break Bonds Home Run Record....He very well could be the next player to win the Triple Crown.....The last player to win the triple crown was Carl Yastrzemski in 1967...Now if he breaks the Career Home Run Record and Wins the triple crown, gets a world series ring, World Series MVP, a few more AL MVP's then maybe he may go down as one of the Best Players to play the game of Baseball!!! Babe Ruth was and is the best player of all time!!!

arod is having a career that will be the best in baseball no matter what anyone else says. he is an complete player and he ranks high in almost all catergories. you have to think now, todays game of baseball is way different then how it was before and i my opinion a lot harder. i would love to see babe ruth perform in the modern era and see if he could handle critics, media, talents, etc.

Not all time. Sure the most dangerous hitter this season. Time will tell. I don't beleive you can consider "all-time" comparisons until his playing career is over.
Do you think ARod is in the same class as Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Cal Ripkin Jr?

He is one of the best players of all time. Until he can produce in the post season, we'll never be able to know for sure.

Nah. If he could pitch, we'd have a serious candidate.
But it's still Ruth. ARod will have to settle for some other, single-digit ranking than "1".
