yes they work good, and are very noticeable on a mustang also, the K&N air system i think is the best for any car, they breath a lot better,i got one on a chevy that helps it to get well over 21 miles per gallon, and running 300 horse power with that kind of mileage is pretty good, those are the best ones though, their expensive but well worth it,or at least mine was, good luck with it.

I don't know about which one is best, but....
Both cold air and cold fuel are best for maximizing the injection of air and the misting of fuel whether carburated or injected.
Think about your science education. Cold makes all things "shrink/condense" and therefore you can get more air or fuel into the cylinder during the intake/injection cycles. The more air to the injected fuel (mist) the better the burn.
We didn't have cold air systems back when I was involved with friends with high performance Mustangs and Camaros but many folks used to put "cool cans" in the fuel line system to chill the fuel before it being injected into the cylinder. The cools cans normally held dry ice for best quick cooling or ice could be used. It was a coiled metal fuel line around the inside of the can with the dry ice/ice in the center of the can. It worked great (back then) and gave much better ignition and therefore less wasted "power" and probably not "more" power. And you could hear an audible difference when you stomped on it.
Hope this helps.

first off i have to say nice stang, love the gt and you gotta have the 5spd.
but with a Cold air intake you might feel a little difference but not much, but there will be an improvement in power over stock. the one thing you will notice is alot more noise from the engine.
its hard to say if there's a "best"
i would say try and stay away from companies like K&N
try and find a good company that makes alot of parts just for mustangs or "muscel" cars
one company i would recomend would be STEEDA.
but im sure there are pleanty others

I know I bought a K&N FIPK for my 01 PT Cruiser and I could feel a slight increase in power and quickness, not to mention the sound. K&N claims the system for the 5.7L Mustang will give 50hp. Although I believe all systems to be the same, K&N is one that will guarentee an increase in performace and give you dyno charts with the product as well as on the website.
