That was terrible the way they cheered when Pennington got hurt and was struggling to get up and walk it off. Especially considering he was really the only bright spot for the team. He played a pretty solid game. It's not his fault the Defense was terrible. And he wasn't the one that let Hobbs run 108 yards on a kickoff. Jets fans don't deserve to have a team to root for.

zc: He was pissed. You could tell when he was on the side line after the play. He was pissed, and you could tell that he was somewhat hurt that all those people were glad he was hurt. I think he showed some class, though, by coming back out and playing through the pain.

Your totally right, Mongoda, about Cleaveland fans. I remember when they threw a temper tantrum when they lost to the Jags and started throwing beer bottles onto the field. When the entire stadium does it, that really makes the city look bad. I mean come on, it's just a game, right?

As a Jets fan I'm very disappointed by the way the fans at the stadium reacted. I mean Pennington lead the jets to the playoffs last year and 2 years before that. I mean you can blame the loss on a lot of things. The defense, patriots having a better team than the jets, or the patriots stealing the jets defense signals. I think the jets can't go far this year without Pennington. And I assure you not all jet fans are classless.

Jets followers are classless by ability of cheering while Pennington have been given injury? Dont even flow there, Pennington is the appropriate reason this team cant ever flow forward because of the fact hes so freakin fragile than we ought to spend draft possibilities on the terrific linemen accessible to guard him cuz hes so sluggish and releases so sluggish. in the event that they could have finished the wonderful factor like MY MOCK DRAFT reported final 365 days, took Leinart or Cutler 4th. Mangold remained the twenty ninth %., then traded up interior the 2d to get McNeill who made the professional bowl as a rookie left address then the Jets could be putting surprisingly. The offensive line is powerful, the difficulty is Pennington. He cant throw worth a darn! do away with Pennington, enable Clemens in, draft and sign some freaking d-linemen and this could be a great bowl team waiting to ensue. Bye Bye Fragile Chad

The New York Jet fans do not deserve a team, when a quarterback like Pennington gets hurt and instead of sitting on the bench like many others,he goes right back into the game deserves some respect, fairweather fans like the ones that cheered when he got hurt should take some lessons on developing some class,

It is always sad to see but also a reality in todays sports world. And to be fair I doubt all Jets fans stoop to that level, it is unfortunate that they all get labled for the shameless acts of some. But on a whole lot of teams in the NFL the best job in the world is the backup QB... everybody seems to love them after a few good preseason games (where it doesnt seem to matter that they do well against 2nd teamers,3rd or even guys who have no shot at a roster spot). Last year fans in Oakland, KC, Tampa, Miami,Chicago,Minnesota,Houston, Cleveland,Washington,Dallas (until they turned to Romo), Tennessee (until Young started), Jacksonville....and on and on all loved the backup. Same thing in hockey...want to be loved by the fans....be the backup goalie on most teams....fans will annoint you the next Patrick Roy just like Jets fans think their backup in the next Joe Namath. Seems like in just about every city for every fan that actually understands the game there are 2 or 3 who "Think" they know it all, even better than the coach.

I live in the midwest and the game was on TV here. I couldn't believe it. It was distasteful to watch and listen to. I believe these were the actions of a minority of morons. Just the same it does give Jet fans a black eye. I don't believe true Jet fans would do this. Can you imagine how Pennington feels? Free agent players notice this kind of stuff.

I was thinking the same thing. He showed so much emotion going to the sidelines. He was so mad, and if your QB cares that much..how can you cheer when he gets hurt? He played really good in the game. It's not his fault they didn't win. The defense played horrible, so did special teams...Hobbs run back...And the rest of the Offense didn't play nearly as good as him. Outstanding effort, horrible fans.

that's sad but, it's just the way it is. I remember a few seasons ago I forget who the starting quarterback was but, it was in Atlanta. it was Vicks rookie year and, they weren't doing too good in this game. the fans, had been waiting for Vick, to start. the quarterback, I think it was Trent Green, He gets injured and, the fans just started jumping up and, down, clapping, cheering, I never saw anything like that but, I think a teams fans, say alot about the franchise. some are just totally classless.

I totally agree. Fans have the right to boo if someone is replaced for being horrible, but getting injured. He could barely get off the field and everyone was booing him. I was shocked that Jet fans would do something that low. If i was Pennington i would be pissed.

Because it is New York. Go to a Giants, Mets, Yankees, Knicks, Nets, Rangers or Islanders game and you'll get the same. They pride themselves on being classless as a trademark for all their local teams.
