It's here (Ireland) As well and i too think it's mad. We're getting a lot of things from our local large DIY store (Doing up house to move in) And just as i went looking for another pot of oil base paint (Where it was 2 days ago) I did a double turn because instead of paint all i could see were giant Santas, reindeers, snowmen and you name it! I know people get all excited about Christmas and want to turn their gardens into grottos or what not but surely! November should be soon enough! Tesco's the same BTW. Our Tesco got Christmas toys and stockings already? In my opinion it's all based on sell, sell, sell and takes away the true spirit of Christmas. I'd give big companies thumbs down for it if i could LOL

Hi Bucky.

I agree it is slightly disheartening. It isn't even halloween yet! I feel that christmas is getting less and less special every year because shops are commercialising it more and more by having their stock out longer - TO MAKE MORE MONEY! There's nothing festive about that.

I think the reason it's depressing is because I want to enjoy the last bit of summer we have left, and already the shops are forcing winter on us! They're making us think of the end of the year, when we've got over 4 months still to enjoy 2007!

Seeing decorations for sale doesn't depress me, it just gets me excited for the coming Christmas season.

It does look funny -- the Christmas items right next to the Halloween items. Some ppl get depressed at Christmas time because Christmas marks another year passing. Just celebrate Christmas the way to want to and when you want to. And just remember when Charlie Brown said that he wasn't going to let the commercialization of Christmas get him down.

I really enjoy Christmas, but was a bit surprised to see all things out already. I guess it makes me a little sad to see how we rush everything, instead of enjoying each special occasion more. It makes me realize how quickly life really does go by. Sigh!

I just fell like they are skipping two wonderful holidays. It kinda puts a damper on the holidays because its like they are rushing it. By the time Chirstmas comes around you are ready for it to be over.
