After the surgery he went through, can you believe that he has feeling in his arms and legs? It's like a miracle!
But do you think he will play, or even walk again?

No, I think his career is over, I do think he will be able to walk though.

According to the team doctor he has limited feeling in his entire body but almost zero chance of ever walking again. In the extremely unlikely event (Drs. words...not mine) he ever walks again there is absolutely zero chance to returnb to the playing field...he could never pass a physical with a fused spine and screws with rods inserted. He still is in critical condition, on a breathing tube in a semi comatose state (medically induced) and is by no means out of the woods. He faces a 3 or 4 day window where he is still at risk of losing his life (again the Drs. words) due to infection or other issues. He more than anything could use all the prayers football fans can give. Certainly there is always some hope of a full or nearly full recovery but right now his focus will be on getting well enough to live...and then moving on to a productive future in one form or another. Mike Utley can be his inspiration, he cant walk (yet...he still believes he will some day...God Bless his will power!) but nonetheless Mr. Utley does great things with what God still has given him. Lets pray Kevin gets the same opportunity!

He also has controlled movement in both arms and legs. This would indicate that he will walk again someday, with lots of physical therapy.
I couldn't beleive it myself, but I'm very glad for Kevin Everett and his family.

Who ever said he can play is not smart or dose not play football. Head on head hits are not rare but to fracture your neck is. It will take years for him to come back to normal or he well not even reach that far. So far so go that he has feelings in arms and legs. But lets break this down....It was a kick-off he is second string tight-end and was on special teams. He broke down(or got ready for a tackle) tackled the ball handler(here is where everything went wrong)His head was down leaving his neck to bend and break!

Michael, Thanks you are great. I have not been on answers for several days. I was so happy to see someone is actually interested in Kevin's condition. I am praying day and night that he walks again. Yes i would like to know that he is playing football. But if he can just have the use of his limbs I will be grateful to God. Again thanks for you interest.

No playee, maybe walkee. He has a long hard road ahead of him. You know what would be cool, you know how in the beginning of the game they have the players run out the tunnels with smoke fireworks the crowd and cheerleaders on both sides. That would be sweet. Oh wait, my bad! This is a business and he is just a piece of meat.

Not sure but I think its F'ed up that doctors are telling patients they will never walk again when obviously they dont know what they are talking about.

Check that out, his doctor said he moved his arms and legs and will walk again. He may play football, but I wouldn't bet on it, he may need rehab for quite awhile.
