BOTH stress and an illness can make a period late. Plus, it's only 2 days, relax, and don't worry about it until it is over a week late.

Hi Sweetie,
It may not only be the stress of being late, but the stress of Mono interfering as well. U
r only 2 days late & under the stress r occuring. U seem like a well together, smart,
& intelligent, responsible lady. I just think u r
taking 2 days, 2 far. If u don't have a long time partner, I hope r still using a condomn.
Have a herbal/green/nighty time tea & with a hot bubble bath. But plse don't let 2 days b
carried this far, u know stress will prolong the inevitable. Plse carry on with day-day chores & in the eve. O sleep, Cammimile r Nighty Time Tea, the more u worry, the longer the stress. It could come in the morn
All My Best o' Luck,

It's probably mono messing with your system. Stress and sickness can cause the hormone levels in your body to change. You could try taking a pregnancy test now since your period is late, but like I said, it's likely the mono. Call your doctor if you're really concerned...it's your body, the doctor will understand and answer your questions. Hope this helps.

Stress is a big factor on the period thing. Everything you do can effect your cycle.....Have you been exercising alot, or cut back, been eating different foods? Ontop of all this you are 21, and most women go through their second growth spirt at 21. I wouldnt worry because it has only been two days, stop stressing, because that is only making the situation worse. Go do something you really enjoy doing to take you mind off of things. Go get a mani and or a pedi, it is very relaxing. Good Luck

The stress can be the cause of being late or maybe sometimes sickness can influence that. But don't worry. You're taking pills so I doubt you're pregnant. If you're absolutely scared then wait 15 days to take the preganancy test.

It's definitely possible the stress and the sickness is causing the late period. If it's a week later and you still don't have your period, I would go to get a check-up.

illness, stress, changes in environment and activity...there are a million things that can affect your period. remember, the body is not a machine...it will have irregularities and fluctuations, even if it never has before. i'm sure as soon as you stop stressing you will get your period...you can do what i always did, waste $20 on a pregnancy test, take it, see that it comes out negative, and then get your period within the hour! feel better, and take care of yourself, especially if you have mono - rest and don't stress!

a lot of things can make ur period late. Stress is a big one. If u r taking antibiotics, that can mess with it big time. make sure if u r taking them, u use a back- up. They decrease the affect of birth control. If u've missed a pill or if ur not taking them everyday at the same time, it can mess up ur cylce as well.

If your doc put you on an antibiotic, or any other kind of meds, it can reduce the pill effectiveness....if you are 2 days late, I would go get a preg test to be sure, then stop taking your pills and see an ob if the test is pos. If they have a health dept in your area, you can get a preg test, and they will help you if you need it. Good luck!!

Absolutely! Stress is a big factor in not getting your period on time. Also being sick too. Try not to worry.
