YTD is year to date
% is percentage . . .

It is the % the fund share price grew in the last 12 months ( year to date , YTD )

For example , if it went from $100 to $110 , that would be a 10% YTD return .

the average yearly return is the amount you can expect the fund to yield over a 1 year period.... 6 percent return means if you invest 100 dollars you can expect to earn 6 dollars over a year.... YTD is what the fund has done to this point this year
