My mom and I are super-duper close..best friends.
I like my dad but he was not part of my life for so long, and that was hard to get past. It's too bad since we actually have a lot in common.

I like each for different reasons, and perferd one or the other as I was growing up. I consider my dad to be the cool easy going one he's laid back and always has a funny story (even If I have herd it 20 times before)
My mom is the more stressed one, but she's great to talk to when I'm upset or need some guidence. She's been through most of the stuff I'm only experiencing for the first time so she always has great advice (even if it is have a bowl of ice cream and stop worrying so much)
I can't pick one over the other, because dispite them seeming very frustrating groing up I do have wonderful parents.
(P.S) I get my spelling from my dad.

I've always been closest to my dad and after mom died I got him to buy a house right up the street from us so he can be a part of our daily family life without actually living with us and/or feeling like a burden. Plus,I figured he be awfully lonely after mom died since guys are conditioned all their lives to the idea that their wife will almost certainly outlive them,so if it happens otherwise they aren't conditioned to handle it well. As to mom,I feel awful guilt at taking her for granted and often treating her very disparagingly. The thing was,I just didn't take after her and we were simply never on the same wave-length. Dad is like a part of me we're so much alike. I'm totally after his side of the family. I have a theory that offspring invariably identify most with the parent they take after genetically and only have a balanced relationship with both parents if they are a good blend of the two genetically. Which - sadly -wasn't the case with me.

Well, I love them both the same, but in different ways. My mother is warm and comforting, while my father has a bit of a rough side. But my dad is more likely to play games with me and do fun things with me than my mom. So, all in all, I love them both a lot.

Used to be my Dad, because he was so easy going and Mom was more the disciplinarian, but now that I look back, Mom wasn't hard ENOUGH on my stubborn @$$!!! My mother and I are really good friends now. I still love my dad, but there is a LOT about him... Oh, please don't get me started. I love them both, but I LIKE my Mom better.
