do I have to testify if subpoenaed? - Yes.
I am afraid if I testify I will be fired? - Firing you because of your testimony is illegal. Your employer could find himself back in court.
Can I plead the fifth? - Nope. You can only plead the 5th during questioning by the police and only if the answer would CRIMINALLY implicate you.

It's the same as a court order if you get a subpoena. You can only plead the Fifth to avoid incriminating yourself -- don't get in trouble to protect your boss.
But bear in mind that if you have to testify, it will all be on the record, and your employer will have a TON more problems if they fire you for obeying a court order. Just calm down, and if you have to testify, tell the truth, just like you're supposed to. They won't fire you.

You are obligated to testify. If you get anything you consider a threat, make careful notes of what is said including direct quotes so you will have ammunition for any wrongful termination suit. If you are a member of a union, speak to your union steward. Above all, don't lie; you would probably be unmasked and look like a real idiot.

You will have to testify, and you will have to answer all questions that are asked of you honestly.
the only way you and envoke your 5th amendment right is to avoid self incrimination.....this means that if you tell the truth, that you will cause yourself to be guilty of a crime.
If your employer fires you for telling the truth, then that's not really a place you want to work, now is it?
