I mean, they didn't give a moment of silence at my school. Everyone (besides me) seemed overjoyed. Did they completely forget how many people were killed? Did they completely forget how many families suffered? Did they care?

Yeah, alot of people did. This morning I woke up early and put out flag at half-mast; our school also had a moment of silence. However, many people have forgotten. Still, psychiatrists say it is a healthy thing. It means that people are able to move beyond that national tragedy. Still, it is always good to reflect and respect. Kudos to you for your care and compassion!

I didn't forget. I made sure our flag was hanging outside. I made sure my son was wearing red, white and blue. I'm wearing the same. I also reminded my son what today was and we said a prayer for the families who lost loved ones.

To Aubri M: Isn't today called Patriots Day?

No, I don't think that anyone forgot; it's just been the fifth September 11 that there wasn't another catastrophic national event. I don't know if 9/11 will someday be a nationwide federal holiday, but I think that it should be.

We will never forget - We lost 343 brother firefighters. I wore my FDNY hat to work today. Good men and women died helping the public that most days would not move out of our way.

It was all over TV today, and ceremonies, at different places all over the US. Too bad, your school didn't make a note of it. Maybe others didn't either.
