year 'round, with items I have for decoration,,like a Santa cookie jar,pot holders, coca cola Santa pictures at various locales, and the guest bedroom is in red , green & gold colors, dedicated to Christmas..I usually bring it all out of the closet Thanksgiving weekend though....As you can see it is my favorite Holiday!=)

I always decorate for Christmas the weekend after Thanksgiving and leave them up until New Year's. There's a house nearby where I live. I saw them putting up Christmas lights outside the day after Halloween. I figured okay, maybe because it's so nice out, they want to get it out of the way before it gets too cold and they won't actually turn them on. Well, they had them turned on the next night! That's just crazy... give Thanksgiving a chance to get here!

I start making decorations and gifts for Christmas about this time of year, but the decorations don't go up until after Thanksgiving. All the major shopping centers/stores are already getting out their Christmas merchandise and displays.... This could be where your daughter is getting this information and need. I also know of people who keep their outdoor decorations up all year round! The look is Christmas, but what about the true spirit? Go figure...

Decorations in the house and the lights 1st week of December. Tree usually does not get put up till Dec 24 or 23rd as my family keeps it up till Jan 6. Good rule of thumb would be to at least wait until after Thanksgiving to get decorating if you want to be prepared take an inventory of what you have and what you'll need to buy. Know where every thing is get it all organized.

I start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. I put out a little at a time and then by the time Christmas gets here, I'm all done.

I have been planning and programming my display since March. I will start decorating a week or two before Halloween and will hopefully have everything up the Saturday following Thanksgiving.
This years display will contain 12 songs with lights programmed to the music, a light tree with 2,000 lights (5 colors), wireframes, small mini trees, and thousands of lights strung about the yard for a visual experience. Songs will be broadcast over the FM band on 96.7FM from 6pm to 10pm.

Christmas decorations usually go up as soon as the Halloween decorations come down; The Halloween stuff usually go up right after Labor day.

November is usually the month when I start breaking out the decorations. Exterior decorations are the first to go up, but I don't light those until December.
