Exact six years ago, we were attacked by terrorists. Have you forgotten?

Tuesday, September 11, 2001 is a somber day that has rooted forever in our hearts. I was sitting around the breakfast table with my family when I first heard the news of the attack over the radio. Where were you? Being a nine-year-old boy, I didn't feel or think much, but the image of the burning buildings on television deeply struck me. How did you feel? Sad? Outrageous? Stunned? Or are you a leftist jerk who did something human beings are not capable to do?

The radical Islamists attacked us because our enemy despises our liberal (International usage) democratic way of life and our main exports- liberty abroad. We all know that unless you belong to the blame-America-first type. Did you feel we need a "permission slip" from U.N. to defend ourselves and to punish those who were responsible? Did you think we need to aggressively take the fight to terrorists' backyards, who have declared war on the United States of America, and have slaughtered thousands of Americans in the heart of New York City? Do you remember how did you fly the Old Glory? Do you recall the sense of patriotism and national unity demonstrated by the audience at the Yankee baseball game, when they chanted, "USA, USA, USA..."? Have you forgotten?

The liberal Democrats have forgotten, as demonstrated by that shameful MoveOn ad on New York Slimes, which is a smear against the Senate-confirmed Gen. Patraeus, and the entire U.S. military in general.

President George W. Bush said on the same night six years ago, "Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve." He was correct, if he meant American resolve, because to the contrary, the liberals have no resolve at all!

I completely understand when our nation is in a time of war, there should not be difference between the Democrats and the Republicans, but the entire Democratic Party, are now on the other side of the war! They believe we couldn't win, and they don't want us to win. They characterize this as "Mr. Bush's War," or "Republicans' War," and they don't think this as an American war. They put their elections and political agendas above our national security and interest. You should understand that American security is your security, and American interest is your interest.

We cannot vote for surrender, because that sends a message to the terrorists they can do whatever they want. We have one 9/11 already. One more attack is one too many.

Take up the fight, my friend, against all enemies- enemies within, and enemies abroad.

God bless America and may He guide our days ahead.

No one has forgotten 9/11. The Libs just don't care anymore. I have never forgotten, and there isn't a day that goes by, that I don't think about those who fell. Today was pretty hard for me to get through. I still mourn, like it happened yesterday.

To be honest, when Bush said that the "terrorists can not shake our foundation," he was wrong. There are many in this nation, our nation, who failed and still fail to see that unity and patriotism are a nation's best defense against all evil. They fail to see the power and responsibility that comes with freedom. They do not realize the sacrifices made by those who were killed on 9/11 and those who went to fight the men who did it.
I do worry for my nation. I worry about those in it who use 9/11 not as a rallying point for all Americans, but as a political step. They use it to try and bring down our government, saying they could have done more to prevent it. What patriotic American would think like this? The first thing they do is blame those in charge, those who Americans elected. It sickens me.
I pray that my nation will not forget 9/11 and, more importantly, what 9/11 means to the United States of America, and freedom around the world. It was a grim day for Americans, yet it seems to be losing its "grimness" with every passing year. Americans, who are far from the unity they achieved during and immediately after WWII, are split. In my mind, 9/11 is a reason for all Americans, no matter what race or what party, to celebrate America and rally together to build it up, not tear it down with false accusations and pessimism. It will always be like this in my mind, and I pray that it will become like this to my fellow Americans.

It was six years ago today that the world forever changed when a group of Islamic radicals hijacked four commercial airliners and flew them into buildings killing nearly 3000 of our fellow citizens. Just like those who have lived through memorable moments of history, everyone can remember where they were and what they were doing when we were attacked. Older Americans added this memory to those of where they were when the Kennedys and MLK were shot. We add these items to our memories and they remain vivid because the significance of the event which, unlike John Kerry’s memories, truly are seared into our cerebral recollections. A lot has happened since that day six years ago and in that time this country has become more divided.

Today we honor the memories of the men and women who got up on a nice, sunny, day and, like they had done many times, kissed their spouses good-bye and went to work. Unfortunately, another mundane day at the office turned out to be anything but mundane and in the shadow of the carnage we saw what is good about America and what, despite our differences, makes us the greatest nation in the world. We saw firefighters and police officers rush into a building with no regard for their own safety in order to save lives. These selfless acts resulted in the deaths of hundreds of these rescue workers as they were crushed to death when the buildings collapsed.

We saw courage from every day people who assisted others in getting out or stayed with them only to perish in the disaster. We saw a group of courageous people divert a hijacked plane into the ground in order to prevent thwart part of the attack and we saw members of our Congress stand on the Capitol steps and sing together, a display to give hope and courage to the people of America.

This date, 9/11/2001, is the second day that will live in infamy and we will honor those who died that day just as we honor those who were killed in a similar, unprovoked attack on 12/7/1941. We will look at these days and never forget that freedom is not free and that there is pure evil in this world. We will always remember that the freedoms we cherish are paid for with the blood, sweat, and tears of the members of the Armed Forces of the United States and we will never remember that America will only remain the land of the free as long as it stays the home of the brave.

Today, Flags fly at half staff to honor those who died when we were brutally attacked. That Flag and the events of that day serve as stark reminders of the dangers we face in this world. Our Flag also reminds us that there is nothing we cannot accomplish if we put aside our differences and combine our efforts as did those who gave us a nation under which to fly her.

God Bless America and the people fortunate enough to call her home.

No I have not.
Nor the unity that has been slowly destroyed in the US by ignorant twits.

Two of my former little league coaches, 5 that I knew of from High School, and 3 other people I knew from around town worked in the Trade Towers. All but one made it out alive.
His Parents, Brother, Wife and kids are missing him today.

And you have the balls to mock the victims deaths as a means to spread your hate and ignorance.

May God forgive you. Because I don't.

I didn't forget. I made sure our flag was hanging outside. I made sure my son was wearing red, white and blue. I'm wearing the same. I also reminded my son what today was and we said a prayer for the families who lost loved ones.

God Bless America!

Ok so I HAVE to respond to this: "Muslims arent jealous of your freedom or your way of life, we just arent, so dont flatter yourselves."

No, they aren't jealous...they just want us dead. We are the "infidels" and the "great satan."

No, I remember as if it was yesterday. Sadly most of the country seems to have forgotten 9/11/2001.

No I have not. It's sad and pathetic to see all of the feeble little minds on here placing blame rather then standing united.

Have you forgotten that it was Osama bin Laden who attacked us on 9/11? Remember Bush vowing to get bin Laden dead or alive? I think it was Bush who later said he's not concerned with Osama bin Laden. Bin Laden is still alive and he's making threatening videos! Meanwhile we're bogged down in a war that has nothing to do with 911.
Why did it take until the Democrats got the majority in Congress to pass the recommendations of the 911 Commission?

We were not attacked by terrorists. The nearly 3,000 people who were killed on that day, were killed by the United States government.
